Israel v Hamas

As has been demonstrated many times over, to still be in support of Israel’s campaign is a fringe position held by a very small minority of people, regardless of their political leaning.

No, that's your echo chamber.

Generally people who follow conservative politics in the UK support Israel.

Generally people who follow progressive politics in the UK don't.

That's pretty obvious.

Again, you won't find any right wingers on a Palestine Action march. Can you tell me otherwise?

A quick Google search pulls up the anti-Israel protest groups – and they're all on the left. I couldn't find any anti Israel groups from the right.

Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) – Left-wing, broad coalition
Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA) – Left/progressive, faith-based (Muslim-led)
Stop the War Coalition – Socialist/anti-war
Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) – Left-wing, peace-focused
Palestine Action – Radical left, revolutionary
Youth Demand – Far-left, eco-socialist roots
Various Anarchist/Autonomous Groups – Anti-capitalist, anarchist
Na’amod – Progressive left
Jewish Voice for Labour (JVL) – Socialist, pro-Corbyn wing of Labour
National March for Palestine Coalition – Mixed left/progressive
Local Palestinian Solidarity Groups (e.g., Manchester PSC, Bristol PSC) – Local grassroots activism, left-wing

No, it’s not - I’ve provided multiple yougov surveys to support the point already.

From memory the last one had something like 12% of people feeling that Israel has responded appropriately to October 7th.

For comparison, in a 2018 survey, around 12% of brits said they believe lizard people are running the world.

You are a fringe minority.

You’re going around the point and for some reason have honed in on protests, which is not remotely exhaustive - there’s lots of things I believe and don’t believe which I have never protested about.

Your point of view is about as popular as David Icke’s, and about as credible.

The original statement that we are referring to was that the left are anti-Semitic. I would argue that this is the case for each of the anti-Israel groups I listed above.

Thanks to our Middle East correspondent for his summing up.

Haha.

Yet more comedy gold.

So, come on: anyone on this site going to take our Mr Norman to task, lads. Just remember the facts given:

"Being on the Left makes you an antisemite."
I don't know if that is true, but it certainly is amusing to see you lot getting a taste of your own medicine and hating it.

Did the other 88% say that Israel should have reacted more strongly?
