Israel captured Gaza from Egypt in the 6 day war. They offered it back to Egypt, who didn't want it. Why's that?

They most likely did but as with overlord the Germans made the wrong assumption of our landings. The Israel border is too big to put forces along every single inch and they clearly guessed wrong. Who would have thought a festival was the target, not something military.

It was a massively well planned feint by the Allies even to the point of putting a famous general, Patton, in command of an entirely fake "6th Army" complete with fake hardware and radio traffic in the Pas De Calais region. Unbeknown to the Germans Patton was in fact being punished having been relieved of command for berating a soldier in an Italian hospital in front of the press because he was in for shell shock. The double agent "Zig-Zag" was a key part of this deception who had convinced the Abwher that the landings were definitely happening in the Pas De Calais.

Both parties agreed in 1995 that Israel retained ultimate authority in both the West Bank and Gaza until a permanent agreement is found. It gave the PA limited self rule under the oversight of Israel. What Macron and Starmer say is irrelevant!
