Ismaïla Sarr

I wonder if Jordan himself thinks that now and whether he’d ever admit it, I’ve read his book along time ago, but I can’t remember whether he mentions it at all.
His stance with cahill agent back then really did make me think about it at the time and realise what greedy scum they can be and I did agree with him at the time, why should a club pay an agent that only works for the player, i’d never given it a thought until then

I met cahills agent , around that time, in the Palace tavern at Bromley South.
Lairy f*cker, he had to leave as my mate told him to f*ck off or he was going to spark him out.
Had mfc on his car reg.

It’s kinda irrelevant how Eze is described now. He is on the bench for Arsenal most times and it’s kinda sad. He will drift out of England reckoning. At some point, if a player is clever enough, he will realise that playing for a successful Place side is better than warming an Arsenal or Chelsea bench. Granted, Guehi was always going to be a starter wherever he went. Zaha soon faded into obscurity after he left, twice. Same with Wan Bissaka. However Ian Wright, Sansom all did very well. I guess hope springs eternal. Mateta and Sarr maybe think they are superstars.

At the end of the day, Sarr has been a great player for us. His agent has turned his head and unfortunately for him and us, he may never be the same player again. I am starting to think and agree with others on here that we should get rid of him and Mateta in January. It’s not good for team spirit and we should be able to bring in some decent replacements with the cash we get for them.
I expect Brennan Johnson will be available

Eze is still in the England set up and went to the WC (unlike other No10s like Palmer and Gibbs White).

Arsenal currently has a WC winner (Merino) on their bench too, so maybe the Arsenal bench is better than average
Eze is an excellent player. He just doesn't suit the current Arsenal. Which was also pretty obvious before he even went there. But there's no telling footballers anything other than what they want to hear.

One in four good games as Arsenal have found out; if you are going for league titles you need consistency, hence he's always on the bench.
A good piece of business by Parish.

Fair play, each to their own. Never expected anything other than him to end up on the bench at Arsenal. But to label him average just seems crazy. Outstanding player who lit up Selhurst with some of the most breathtaking moments i've ever witnessed in 40 years of support. Would drag myself to Selhurst purely to watch him at times. Then those FA Cup goals v Stockport, Fulham, Villa & City. All first goals in big games that led to the trophy.

It’s a close call between him and Benteke for worst ever signing.
Ben scored 17 goals first season then stopped , but was hardly ever dropped , feel sorry for johnson was all tracking well then the wheels fell off , and now going same way as Dele Ali , Tottenham curse strikes again

Eze follows in a long tradition of talented players in the England who aren’t trusted.
This goes back to the days of Bowles, Hudson, Worthington, Currie,Marsh, Le Tissier etc.

It will ever be thus in my view with the fundamental mistrust of natural talent with more emphasis on what you will lose than what you will gain through inclusion of these players.

With regard to Eze, it obviously can’t be proven, but I genuinely can’t see us having won the FA Cup without him.

It would be more difficult to think of a worse club and worse manager for him to join than Arsenal and Arteta.
A functional, win at all costs approach, with an overindulgence in robust physicality and cheating.
Sure , Arsenal might use him in the League against Hull and Coventry or in cup games, but for important games he’s likely to remain a peripheral figure.

Back on the subject on Sarr, there’s an argument that he’s the only player in the squad that provides a direct threat running in behind with the requisite pace and quality to threaten defences.
I wouldn’t be too keen to move him on until we we can demonstrate that we have at least one proven player who provides the same level of threat.
