It will be interesting to see if/what the route back for Sarr is.

Sage made of point saying there is a difference between JP the player, and JP the man (litigious git) he didn't say any such thing about Sarr.

Kamara has obviously posted the things he's posted specifically naming Sarr, and Sarr (or team) has deleted all Palace stuff off his socials.

So unless Sarr disagrees with what his agent is saying and team are doing, we can only assume that he isn't best pleased.

Surely we have to get rid this week? Even if its a loan to Gala?

At the end of the day, Sarr is a professional and needs to be playing top level once he is fit again. Like it or not he will be playing for us until at least January. He has undoubtedly shone at the Palace and played his best football ever for us. There is no guarantee he would have risen up for Liverpool as he would have needed to do.
If i were him i would do what Mark Bright did. Knuckle down and focus on his game for the next 5 months, maybe even the season here at the Palace. He has possibly got one more chance to test himself at the top if he continues to shine for us. He maybe has three more years to try and prove his worth at the elite levels of the game. Failing that, Im sure he could triple his money in Saudi next season and beyond to see out his playing days with a bumper cash haul. So long as he is sensible and grown up, Im sure he has a good chance of at least getting a move to a top club. Beyond that is anybody's guess. It definitely is not a certainty.

Agree, its only a failed move if both clubs had at least got to the stage of agreeing a price. It was 2 bids. Neither of which deemed enough. Thats the end of it
 
I wonder what Sarr's teammates make of it all?

It's said that the club have known he wanted out since earky summer so I'm sure there have been communications with him/ his agent but the only clubs that seem to have been linked with him are Galatasaray and Liverpool, and Liverpool's interest seems to have been tentative at best.

We were supposed to be trying to tie him down to a long term contract at the end of last season and perhaps it was then he let us know he wouldn't be signing or perhaps we weren't offering him/ his agent enough.

Just like with Guehi ( and perhaps Mateta) the pressure will be on to sell as the contract is run down with no renewal.

It seems odd in a way as he appears to be a player without much ego and he works so hard for the team without attempting to seek the limelight which he would have been entitled to with his outstanding form.

Sage didn't sound to convincing about him returning in the near term.
I doubt Sarr will be with the club next season.
If money is the sole motivation perhaps Saudi is a more fitting place to ply his trade.
 
Of course Sarr wanted/wants to leave. He works for a club whose whole business model is to buy, develop, and sell. Having been a very important part of a successful team that achieved all anyone could ever ask of them, he has seen one colleague after another move onwards and upwards to bigger clubs. Why would he not want the same for himself?

On top of that, after a career showing promise but not really delivering consistently, at the age of 28 he has finally had a breakout season. Having scored 5, 5, 13, 6, 13, 5, 10, and 4 goals in each of his previous seasons (and two of those double-figures seasons were in the Championship), he got 12 in his first year for us then 21 last season. Even if half of that 21 was against lesser teams in Europe and the League Cup, its still his highest goals return by a mile. Who knows when he'll ever be this in-demand again?

He is similar to Mateta in these respects. Of course, if he isn't actually injured then he's out of order for not playing, but I have a bit of sympathy there. The window should not be open when the games are on. Some players may be able to put their future, and the implications of getting injured, out of their mind and play, but I can understand that not all can.

I couldn't give a flying f*** about his social media account, or what his agent says. He just needs to turn up for work and lets get on with it.

they weren't put off by isak's disgraceful behaviour last year.
then again richard hughes may be hoping to cause trouble with their low and or late bids!!

It won't help if they think they're being told "You losers aren't up to my standard so it's essential that I leave".
Alternatively they might just think his agent is a tool and get on with their own plans to engineer a move to a money club.
