My high blood pressure is certainly easier to manage this season! Personally I’m enjoying the progress we’ve made as a team - more attacking, younger, fitter, and increasing depth in the squad. The games are much more enjoyable to watch and even the odd loss doesn’t feel so bad.
Great to see the academy start to produce talent even if they end up bringing in a fee and going elsewhere. The occasional player getting into the first team is great to see. It feels like we finally have a business model which works for us as a club.
The only times I feel that old anxiety creeping back in are during the January and summer windows. Will we lose our top players? Will we finally sign someone? Even that is a little less stressful knowing that, should we sell the likes of Guehi and Eze, it’s not the end of the world. We have strength in depth and players ready to step up.
Just need Ollie to sign a new contract and life will be beautiful!
