MP Mike Amesbury being sentenced for punching constituent in street​

Sentencing due at any moment. Let's see what happens
 
wow, 10 weeks in prison for the MP (formerly Labour, now independent). I wasn't expecting that. It seems appropriated for the severity of the attack, which was fortunate not to cause permanent injury, or even be fatal

Come on .. it was handbags at dawn. The bloke he punched is hardly an OAP. He is probably embarrassed - see link below. He's been sent down to warn other MPs to behave themselves as an an example and Kier Starmer has asked the magistrate to go hard on him so that it can't be called a two tier judiciary.

Hardly handbags! Punching him to the ground and then punching 4-5 more times! Does it matter he was not an OAP?

The bloke who got a slap was pissed up as well, said something provocative and the MP who was pissed up lashed out. In terms of what happens on the streets it’s not crime of the century- the victim seems fine, his ego is probably bruised more than his elbow.
The MP gone down for 10 months so everybody’s happy.

10 weeks I believe , should have been 10 months though !
