I don’t follow the logic of this.

Without knowing the countries you are referring to I assume they are in the developing world, where maternity services are simpler than here, often at home, but still available.

Having to pay an airfare and accommodation costs would, to my mind, not be worthwhile to secure the benefit. If the target was to gain British citizenship for the newborn that makes more sense.

If they do not then all credibility has been eroded - which is a situation that seems ever closer. They seem ever more like political pawns.
