Interesting (?) Political stuff...

MP Mike Amesbury being sentenced for punching constituent in street

Sentencing due at any moment. Let's see what happens

wow, 10 weeks in prison for the MP (formerly Labour, now independent). I wasn't expecting that. It seems appropriated for the severity of the attack, which was fortunate not to cause permanent injury, or even be fatal

Come on .. it was handbags at dawn. The bloke he punched is hardly an OAP. He is probably embarrassed - see link below. He's been sent down to warn other MPs to behave themselves as an an example and Kier Starmer has asked the magistrate to go hard on him so that it can't be called a two tier judiciary.

Constituent sucker-punched by Labour MP breaks his silence

Hardly handbags! Punching him to the ground and then punching 4-5 more times! Does it matter he was not an OAP?

The bloke who got a slap was pissed up as well, said something provocative and the MP who was pissed up lashed out. In terms of what happens on the streets it’s not crime of the century- the victim seems fine, his ego is probably bruised more than his elbow.
The MP gone down for 10 months so everybody’s happy.

10 weeks I believe , should have been 10 months though !

Don't worry he will still be paid

One of the many things that make me a bit upset about this case. I wonder how much work he'll get done in jail. Probably as much as when he was 'working from home', or any of the other MPs.
just disgusting really. Hopefully Karma will strike

Energy and water bills going up significantly in April, car and council tax going up....broadband going up.

They talk about average wages rising but there will be plenty of people whose wages aren't going up or where it's nowhere enough....and who are going to be hit hard by these increases because collectively, for many, it's no joke.

Lots of people at the lower end already not coping......Ineffective, incompetent governance all over Europe.

Exactly as I expected

The apologists in chiefs for our establishment tell us that our judiciary are objective and not biased.

However, it's clearly lies and more and more of our judges appear to be moving towards real bias in their judgements. Similar to activist judges in America. None of us are surprised by this.

Had this been Farage punching a Muslim I suspect the outcome would be very different.

Put some mean comments on Facebook after those disgusting child murders and you get banged up also immediately and get the judge filmed sentencing and condemning you. but be a Labour MP punching some guy on the street and give a pack of lies to the Police and it's a suspended sentence.

We aren't living in the same country we were raised in gentlemen. The people in charge are a significant downgrade.
