Interesting (?) Political stuff...

I know I shouldn't but...

But but but, Boris the bad who robbed him of his 10k has not been PM now for 2 years. I thought the great establishment believer was happy that the civil service was professional and full of hard working impartial people and with a new government justice would be done and he would get his 10k back.
The civil servants in my case covered up for Johnson’s mistake and prevaricated through the appeal process until it was exhausted and then refused to answer further enquiries.

Ironically caused because Johnson’s statement and press release was almost certainly not written for him by a civil servant but by a “Spad”, who I assume was Cummings, trying to dress it up as positively as possible whilst making commitments that have not been honoured.

With the only official route left open being a Judicial Review which carries heavy costs and the prospect of having to pay those of the DHSC if lost I have been advised not to take that option by the MP, who is now fighting directly with the Minister on my behalf.

However that’s not straightforward as her questions are routed through the “table office” and rewritten to ensure “consistency of language and clarity”! In fact it means they no longer ask what is intended but ask a simple rhetorical question that’s simple to bat away.

The new government no longer have any need to find mud to throw at Johnson.

We go on fighting.

Indeed, Boris himself cost you personally. A bit like Thatcher and the miners.

He mentioned it recently in a post. Some just can’t let it go and with WE it’s Brexit, trump, immigration and 10 bags 😂
There are some things that are far too important to just “let go”!

You can accept one phase is over and that you need to move on to the next, but you don’t give up. Giving up is for losers!

Rejoining, or initially rebuilding our relationship with, the EU is one. Seeing Trump brought to justice and the direction of the USA reversed isn’t something any of us has much influence over but understanding it and reacting to it is important to our, and the world’s, future. So of great interest.

Accepting we now live in a new era in which there is greater movement of people than in the past is just accepting reality and not fighting it. Managing change seems much more productive to me than pretending it’s not going to happen.

Not at all.

Thatcher ended an era of Union power whilst closing an out of date industry. You could argue that more could have been done to help those impacted but I think quite a lot was. I have lost jobs and had to find new ways. With resilience and determination you do.

Johnson lied.

As usual. Accept the things with which you agree and "react" to those with which you disagree. Isn't that what everybody does?

You accept realities whether agreed with or not.

New situations simply demand new strategies. You no more sit back and do nothing just because you agree with something than give up on something you don’t.

So accepting the situation while trying to change it. Pretty short term acceptance.

It's interesting that we already know more about rich kid Luigi Mangione, who killed the wealthy CEO, than we do on the two nutjobs who tried to assassinate President Trump.

The media interest and attention on them went as quiet as it did on the 2020 pipe bombs, Epstein, how he got his money and Epstein's client list and videos taken from his island.

Rachel from accounts is vowing to cut back on wastage in the government. Perhaps she might want a quiet word with her colleague.

Dear Angela

I take your point about informing the public about what you do however hiring your personal photographer is a bit much. Perhaps you should try phoning the Guardian and the Daily Mirror I'm sure they would be happy to publicise your good works for free.

Regards

Rachel.

Not sure this is the right place to put this. But here it is

Interesting reading
When you study politics in university it becomes no surprise that Proportional Representation would be fairer in the UK. Apparently, first past the post would be better in Ireland. Hence both countries have the exact opposite. The politicians all know it but would be voting for their own possible demise.

Ultimately it’s not up to them.

Both the LibDems and Reform want PR. If both, or either, become part of a coalition government in 2029 they may well demand PR as the cost of agreement. If the Tories and Labour attempted a grand coalition to avoid that then the whole house of cards could tumble.

It’s up to us to send people to Parliament who are committed to changing the system. No more referendums!
