There are general categories! No one in their right mind would regard littering as more serious than murder. Both true. However for many crimes what people regard as being more serious than another depends solely on personal opinion.

How about the terrorist sympathisers arrested today. That’s very serious as it impacts UK security.

i think that’s wrong. It failed in the courts only for the then government to pass new legislation overturning the decision. The incoming government then scrapped it because they decided that the cost/benefit was not good value and that overturning a Supreme Court decision had negative connotations.

There are categories and lists of crimes which fit into each category and each have sentencing guidelines but the seriousness still comes down to personal decision. What fresh gibberish is this?

I doubt you would find many, if any, of those arrested have the slightest sympathy for terrorists.

They were protesting about their freedom of speech being restricted. Something the right are frequently complaining about too, so ought to be supporting them, rather than complaining about them.

It’s really simple. So simple that if you cannot understand it now, it seems unlikely you ever will.

Whether anything is thought serious always depends on personal perceptions. Many will share yours, some mine. They won’t always be identical, whatever categories they are allocated to.

Then I'll never understand because I have no idea what that means.
Unless it's that raping children is regarded as so much less serious than making comments of Facebook that it's allowed to go on for 25 years.

As you like to say the law is the law. Most people jailed last year are not racist far right thugs but you were happy for them to go down. When the truth about PA comes out and how dangerous they are you may want to re evaluate your position !

Apart from holding up placards saying that they support a proscribed terrorist group you mean?
