I’d be quite happy with a naval/border control presence in the channel stopping them.

We do also need to sort out safer legal routes as well though.

If they ever stop the current flow I would be happy with a humanitarian route as opposed to Aslylum route. I mean taking a set number of women and children / sick people.

The problem with the current Asylum system is that it is abused by economic migrants and it tends to be male and the fittest / strongest/ richest where as the more deserving would be unable to make the journey on their own.

But first stop the flow.

This is spot on, previously had amnesties which weren’t amnesties. Then all the “ all we,come” brigade and some on here will chirp up with “ we told you they were all genuine”

So we stop them and then what? The French have been playing silly buggers for years. You do realise BC do patrol the Channel don’t you? They have to bring them to the UK, many if which have been escorted by French Coastguard
I really dont understand this “ legal route”, what is that. Anyone who holds a genuine passport has the opportunity to apply for a visa at an Embassy abroad. That is a legal route.
What would happen to thise who do not qualify through a legal route, oh yes they will cross the Channel anyway

What about changing the demand to come here, like stopping all these luxury hotels or any hotels? You know, detention centres in places like RAF bases? If they can set up emergency Covid hangers they can do this too.

Lots of them come because they know what they’re going to get and receive and the money being wasted is obscene. Your plan is actually not to stop this but to aid and facilitate it, which will reduce, if at all, by a tiny amount. But we know the problems, issues and costs will still plague England.
