HF- Political Comments

According to the BBS there’s a Palace loyalist group on facebook planning to run a display(s) of union flags at Palace matches now.

I remember a year ago when we played Spurs at Selhurst in an evening match 3 weeks after the 7th October massacre. An Israeli flag in the Spurs corner came out and on tv you could see Parish pointing it out to either Harris or Blitzer. Both showed no facial expressions.

On the BBS thread there’s the usual mix of sensible opinions and lefty idiots so no surprise there. One example is that politics is involved in everything so….whatever. That depends on how deep you want to go and how obsessed you are. Another idiot pointed out how football, players or Palace have been involved in matters with political issues. None of which you see or are involved in match days.

I mentioned this on another thread. And I was absolutely disgusted when I seen it on the day. In that moment for the first time ever at selhurst I felt unwelcomed. I understand it's a small minority but it's how I felt.

Especially on the anniversary weekend of the terrorist attack last year.

I for one will not be donating any money in the future to the HFs. And I have reported it to the club and made my feelings clear.
I'll be interested to know if the club responds in any way . Indeed what have the HF got to say about it ?

I find it unlikely that British flags will be welcomed in Croydon.

What will the HF be doing over this issue? Let’s think:

1. Saying nothing and never going there again?

2. Getting their most articulate to write a statement to say that’s the end of that?

3. Realising what a fvcking error they’ve made in dividing and p1ssing off the fanbase and arguing over what the fvck to do?

4. And/or realising, oh sh1t we’ve got Spurs in 2 weeks who have a large Jewish following (and a history of Jewish fans with a parent(s) or grandparent(s) who were Jewish) and won’t be at all impressed with this ignorant public display?

5. Planning how they’re going to make it from the pub to the ground without being noticed and having this issue raised with them?

6. Somehow getting an escort 😂 from the pub to their own home ground. Something they wanted before?

A combination of the above, or none of the above and they’re fine with it like a fraction or half of the BBS, if that.

If the club step in and stop this then it will be interesting what happens next. We’ve seen HF boycotts before. I think it was when Parish wouldn’t give them the seats in the centre. The end result after getting the seats in the centre and getting fans moved is the atmosphere has got worse, not better. Mainly because the songs have become the ones that nobody knows or wants to sing if they do.

Has anyone considered, that it might not have been the HF and just randoms on a matchday?

I wasn't there and didn't see it, but someone I spoke to who was in that section and said there was quite a few in the crowd that he hadn't seen before.

Just a thought.

Problem with that theory is that:

1. They’re right there with the HF

2. You can’t get the 2 long poles into the ground the Palestine flag and the Lebanon flag are on easily and probably only if you’ve got clearance like the HF have.
