Went out to a country pub for lunch yesterday to celebrate my missus' birthday and we were sat down for about 20 minutes, had ordered food, when a mass of travellers turned up with pony and traps. There must have been around 50 men, already pissed up, their kids pissing in the bushes, blocking the car park.
I was with my wife, son, daughter, and her four young kids. We did the only sensible thing and made for the exit. We then had to negotiate our way around horses and their owners to get our vehicles out.
We know that after we left, as you could predict, it got ugly, and the police were eventually called. The pub staff were traumatised and the pub lost business.
I don't get too fazed by this kind of stuff, but how do you protect your family in these situations?
Our lunch was spoiled, but more importantly, this is just another example of how pathetic our country has become. We allow these minority groups to get away with disrupting our way of life because our justice system no longer protects us. This stuff is not uncommon where I live, and I suppose it is also related to immigration. Just not the kind we usually think about.
There are too many people who have no respect for anyone other than their own kind and have no fear of the law. Their colour and origin are of little importance. The issue is how we deal with people who wish to benefit from our society without respecting it or the others in it.
