Has Parish ruined this season?

All we had to do was sign a replacement during the summer around the time we signed Sosa and it all could have been avoided.

If all the players we’ve bought at the end of window have cost more like you say, why has Parish been doing it all these years? And don’t say it’s because he’s disorganised because if it was so bad why are we in the premier league for 13 years?

Don’t you think it might be because he extracts more value late in the window? This doesn’t help the manager prepare but can provide better resources with our comparatively smaller budgets.
The last minute deals were OK when Hodgson was the manager: compliant and only interested in avoiding relegation. Glasner brought us trophies but it came with an attitude
Parish has clearly cocked up on several fronts in 2025. It's no excuse to mention the past. We don't keep players on once they have reached their sell-by date. In Toronto, the Raptors won the championship because the GM did a wonderful job of acquiring players. He lived off that for years but continuously made errors subsequently and finally had to go. Fans were grateful for what he did but it was time to move on

The past is behind us and I want us to be in the EPL for the next 13 years. The latter can only happen if you are always planning succession, including when you need to re-cycle players as their contracts approach the end time to maximise your investments. Bournemouth for example had an excellent window, they had players coming in from early summer and sold well in the window, that is good succession planning rather than the Parish way of wait and see. Its impossible to extract better value late in any window because the pool of available players is smaller and when you are desperate prices go up its called supply and demand pricing in the same way that airline tickets get more expensive the later you leave it!

This is simply not true, or not true all of the time. Football transfers involve the selling club needing to sell, whether due to bulging squads, or due to finances and contract expiry, as we have found with Guehi and Liverpool. If Pavlovic did join us then Liverpool would have got their steal, proving your business to consumer example an incorrect example for professional football.

I don’t like it myself from a football perspective but it is a very valid trading strategy.

Let’s just hope Glasner (our best ever manager) gives us one chance at a solid top 10 finish with guehi (our best ever defender) whilst we still can. I’m more than happy knowing we’ve been out of the championship for 12 seasons at this point but surely with the squad we have at the moment, & the quality of our manager.. we can aim for somewhere higher than 9th/10th maybe ?? If we win the conference and get Europa league football would that will be enough to convince glasner to stay on?! Who knows. Not a fan of his theatrics causing the guehi deal the fall through but in a way it’s sort of thing a rightfully ambitious and exceptional manager would do after having to deal with a lot of bs from the board all summer

Last season we didn't win a game till the end of October. I would say the league since October we would be a top 9/10 finish. Although now we have some more games this time around with a good start.

We’ve played exceptionally since Dec 24/Jan 25. 3 at the back with wing back system was always going to take a little time to click after hodgsons stone age tactics. Charlton once finished 7th so why can’t we!

If the league started when we played Tottenham last season I think I saw we would have been 5th or 6th!!

You can't control how other people are going to behave or conduct themselves. Unless you are a police officer, a prison warden, or a possessive man who keeps his wife locked in the cellar.
I have faith in Parish, as he always has the club's interest at heart.
It seems a shame that OG and MG might run down their contracts. I thought agents most profit came from transfer fees, so extending their contracts to enable a fee to be paid to CPFC and the agents seemed the best option,....but I could well be wrong.

I lavished my wife with gifts, gave her all the comforts i could, and they only way I could get her to stay was to lock her in the cellar. She performed very poorly after that.
If people really want to leave, there's no point stopping them.

*** However, next time you can be better prepared. Your next wife can have an electric monitoring tag fitted , with the capability to issue electric shocks for under-performing.

Perhaps in the fullness of time, more actual facts will come to light about recent events.

But as things stand, to answer the Question, I don't think Parish has ruined it. But I think he has spoiled it. And it's possible we will look back and think that actually, he did ruin it.

Going by what has been reported, I can't understand why Parish would agree to the Guehi deal proceeding when the loan for Igor fell through. And that's leaving aside that someone, somewhere thought an injury prone player that can't even get past an aging Dunk to get in the Brighton team, was an adequate replacement.

It appears that only the threat of Glasners resignation prompted Parish to scupper the Guehi transfer.

I would be more understanding, and maybe Guehi would be as well, if Parish had simply called it off because there was no more time left to get a replacement in. Unless another deal was in the offing but wasn't realistically going to be completed in time.

After we won the FA cup ( seems like a long time ago now ), I thought this club had turned a corner.

Now we've reverted back to the same old Imploding Palace.

I'm very disappointed.

nobody has come out and said that , that come from click bait , because anybody acts like that , even if he is one of the best managers we have had , he can piss off and take his sulky ways with him

I think you might need to talk to someone about where your imagination takes you... alarming

We’ll see. As I wrote, actual facts will hopefully emerge.

Glasner is not a sulker. Hes a professional that feels let down the club - and that’s on record. Not Clickbait

I am not saying you are wrong, early signings was ridiculous, your cant replace players before they leave, If Arsenal hadn't bid the asking fee in the last week, he would still be here, a replacement was bought, Palace never got the amount that they wanted for Guehi, so no deal went through, 5 players have been purchased, Glasner asked for 3, i assume Glasner is happy, he got want he wanted, at a time that was appropriate, Glasner should extend his contract, Parish should stay away from the limelight and Guehi get on with honouring his contract, while looking forward to whatever he wants in 8 months.
