Guessand

I think he's good and bearing in mind he hasnt played much, he has added something - he loves to take players on and offers an attacking threat. He can help pick up the speed of a game straight away, a bit like JP when he was coming on as sub.

In light of increased future revenues with being in the Europa League next season and the fact we need a bigger squad than last, I hope the club can afford to sign him.

Standard Sport understands that while Palace remain interested in Guessand, they will now face competition from clubs in England and Europe for the 24-year-old’s signature.

Guessand joined the Eagles on loan in January with an option to buy at around £28million.
After a productive start to life in south-east London, a knee injury curtailed the Ivory Coast international's progress, and he played just 29 minutes of Palace’s final eight league games.
Guessand, who came off the bench as the south Londoners lifted the Conference League last week, has been included in the Ivory Coast’s World Cup squad and will then return to Aston Villa as he assesses his options ahead of next season.

Guessand is understood to have been happy at Palace, but uncertainty over who will replace outgoing manager Oliver Glasner means neither the club nor the player are expected to make a decision imminently.

Aston Villa have already received multiple enquiries about Guessand’s availability this summer, with Unai Emery expected to move on from the former Nice striker just a year after signing him for £30m.
Speaking in January, Emery admitted that he did not initially want to let Guessand leave for Palace but acknowledged that the move was “something good for the club”.

"It's something similar like with [Donyell] Malen. I was happy with him. I didn't want him to leave. But I accepted it is something good deal for the club,” Emery said.

Personally I was never impressed with Guessand at A.Villa and he has done precious little at our club to alter my opinion.
Perhaps I have just not seen the best version of Guessand.
I might be interested at a lower price or if we weren't stuck with Nketiah, Larsen and Johnson. If Mateta goes, we need to make the right choice to replace him and it will take a really good manager to achieve that in terms of goals from any of the aforementioned trio
Palace actually have a positive goal difference when Guessand has been on the pitch in league games. Johnson's is horrific. Almost -1 per 90 minutes!

He doesn't look to be a £25 million player to me, but some could argue that it looks a bargain in comparison to the £35 million spent on Johnson.
It's all relative I suppose.
We have to hope optimistically that Sage ( or A N Other) turns them into £50 million players along with Franca.

Dunfermline fans were speculating on their site the other day that for the upcoming window they might have £4,000 to spend and hoped to get a couple of players for that. Normally they get by pretty much on free transfers, loans and out of contract and youth players. They got to the play-offs and the cup final this year.
Didn't win either though.

Might be worth sending Johnson's agent up to Scotland. We might still be able to get 2 grand?
