Grooming gangs

What’s the point of this tale victimhood? You want sympathy?

Even as a teenager myself Brixton wasn’t a place to spend any time in. You would be wiser to ask your parents why on earth they thought it a suitable place to bring up a child. Yes there were riots there. What caused them? It was anger at the Police for unfair stop and search tactics combined with years of racial discrimination in local housing policy. You seeing drivers dragged out of cars there has obviously coloured your judgement. Those doing the dragging being simply criminals. The colour of their skin being irrelevant.

So your parents took you to the backwater of Wisbech, but your chose to go back and get to see the “darker” side of human nature. Why, if it was so awful did you do that? I suspect you liked the fighting. More discolouration of your judgement. Everyone’s experiences shapes them, and yours certainly has, but not positively.
Maybe the stop and search policy wasn’t so racist. Look at the prison population compared to the actual population. Slightly disproportionate in the non white department. Or is that racist to mention that. This policy would also mean 100s of young black kids would still be alive and maybe not in jail !

Why shouldn't someone from London want to go back to where they came from? It may be a decision a young person is more likely to make but it's hardly controversial.

How depressing.
No go areas even back then apparently.

Of course it was racist. To stop and search anyone by anything arbitrary is wrong. To do it solely by the colour of their skin is racist. There’s no denying it.

People like you are very confused. You stop and search people because you suspect them of being involved in criminality. That could be because they are in certain locations and/or are behaving in certain ways. Including group behaviour. That’s justified. Stopping someone solely because of their physical appearance isn’t. Ensuing the difference is explained and understood, both within the police force and by the public is essential.

If the majority of knife crimes in an area are carried out by young blackmen, then it is very sensible and appropriate to stop and search young blackmen. If the majority of knife crimes in an area are carried out by elderly women with walking frames, then it is very sensible and appropriate to stop and search elderly women with walking frames. If the majority of child-rapes in an area are being carried out by men of Pakistani heritage, it is very sensible and appropriate to target men of Pakistani heritage in investigations.

Ever heard of the Krays and Richardsons? Rival gangs. The Richardsons controlled Brixton. The Krays the East End. Both looked like me. Both I avoided.
There would be no reason to go there but you would have been entirely safe unless you were up to something. You seem to fail to understand how those gangs worked. They didn't randomly stab people or rip your belongings from your hands.

That would be common sense and efficient use of resources but fails the ideology test.

Unrelated to grooming gangs but fair enough. He can have his day in court. Feels like the media love that but aren't interested in the widespread continuing grooming gangs in their own country. I wonder why that is.
They are holding him on the one charge I expect further charges later I think they will get there.

since when was 'sensible and appropriate' ever seen to be desirable, achievable, or even sensible and appropriate

This always reminds of the times when you're traveling through the airport to your destination. You will see grey haired old ladies & even toddlers going through metal detectors, having their shoes removed & having their bodies waved over by security wands to check for explosive devices.
