I believe that to be in our best interests, yes. But that doesn’t imply the banning of religion. Only that has no influence over, or involvement in schools. At home and in places of worship that’s up to the parents. However, any evidence of the teaching of hatred, wherever it is found, should be prosecuted. So home schooling needs to be tightly regulated.

It's amusing that the original quote came from a spoof account parodying Owen Jones which many, including Naz Shah apparently, took at face value. Probably because it was indistinguishable from his usual burbling.
