Greedy Scum

It's the players day job. If I was offered double my salary for the same job in a different company I'd be gone! 🤷🏻‍♂️
Always makes me laugh that statement when people try to justify their greed, The average Joe on the street is not already on 100/150/200-250k a week plus whatever else they get for wearing a certain brand of boots etc etc

True, and in comparing the career and wage aspirations of the average person to those of footballers, we can forget there is such a thing as greed, and a person already having enough money.

Where I have far more sympathy with modern players who want to leave clubs like Palace is that their 'pure' ambitions, like challenging for the title, competing in the latter stages of the champions league, and showing they belong alongside and against the very best, can only be met by moving. You just can't do those things at Palace.

I don't think there is any equivalent to that in most other walks of life.

Yes I agree with that. Players like Olise, Eze and Guehi deserved to progress their careers elsewhere but they did it in the right way. Not like that w####r Mateta who isn’t that good anyway. I’ll reserve judgement on Sarr until we know the real story…..

Rumoured that we are after Bowen again ÂŁ50m , if and its a big if we get him , then yes if true about Sarr he can leave , Bowen is a leader , but I can't see it happening , thats both scenarios

Scum is a bit OTT.
They are footballers, this is just a job to them. If you could get a better job, for a bigger company, with better pay, I'm sure you'd be interested too.

They are not Palace fans so they don't have to have the same loyalties as we do.

You can remain professional tho, if Sarr has gone on strike then get rid of him straight away.

We don't know about Sarr for sure yet, just speculation. Best hold off until facts are known. Mateta we do know about however.
Yes, and what we know is that he's continued to turn up for work and try his best, whatever dispute he has with his employer and whatever aspirations he has to work elsewhere.

It seems these problems are rife in football.

Ollie watkins didn't want to play for villa yesterday and according to emery this has happened with 5 different players since he's been there.

That is shocking when you consider that villa are successful, have a great manager and pay very high wages and yet they have lost half their europa league winning team already.

Puts any problems we've got into context.

I was thinking the same thing. Villa have given Watkins everything, England caps, European cup. And now he's refusing to play, not to force a move to Barca, but to Saudi. So greedy and disrespectful.

But this situation might help us get Mateta gone so I'll be quietly hoping Watkins gets his move

We don't know the situation with Sarr yet, but it does seem a big coincidence that the rumours start rumbling and then he mysteriously gets injured.

Mateta just doesn't seem that bright. In January he could have quietly agitated for the move to Milan without sticking emojis on social media like a 14-year-old. And then recently he clearly had a dig at palace over his injury issue, when he thanked Milan staff for spotting the problem. His big personality is a blessing and a curse, but right now it might be the latter if he is trying to engineer a move to another club. His finishing has been woeful for the last year and I wonder if Guessand might be able to replicate his physical presence if he left.
