Except it’s effectively going to cost us £40m-£50m to hold onto Guehi for another season unless he signs an extension to his contract which is unlikely.

But we could spend that on a total lemon. Better to keep MG and this team together than get in some unknown as let’s face it, we are not actually going to go and spend 30-40 million on a player and certainly not 50 plus for a name.

It’s the counter argument to those saying it would be great to keep him, nothing else. I would prefer he went now and we bought two quality centre half’s with the money.
