Spot on. And to be fair, if Glasner did chop and change his tactics everyone would say he didn’t know what he was doing.

Glasnerball is the system that finally won us the FA Cup after so many near misses. It has seen us score 3 times in a Euro quarter final and semi final against experienced European sides. It has seen us lift the charity shield.

Some of the passages of play I have witnessed under Glasner have left me almost speechless with their ruthless effectiveness. None more so than the FA Cup final goal which was essentially a microcosm of his system. Our only hope of winning this trophy is he has two more tactical masterclasses to impart on this group and he will leave a legend.

Yes, I totally agree that his system is more suited for cup football. And it has given us some unbelievable cup games! (If you can ignore Macclesfield, Larnaca & KUPS)

If you offered me another season of Glasner as opposed to a change of manager I would take it.

I can't remember a season where we either didint have a great start and poor finish or a poor start and a good finish. Through the years we only like to play half a season regardless of the manager.

Maybe vieiras first season was a bit more spread out with wins but ultimately we probably finished mid table again.

No, but player availability does - we lost Munoz, Sarr and Kamada for a couple of months, and lacked alternatives of similar quality or profile.

Glasner did not handle himself well, but his complaints re the state of the squad in December were accurate.

I was shouting at the telly when we were getting thumped in the first half of our last prem match, and the camera cut to Glasner sitting in his chair overtly looking frustrated and unhappy......but HE is the one that could have made a change!!!!

I would have had much more respect for him if he had the balls to make the change in the first half - the game was clearly only going in one direction, so either write it off and save the payers for the Euro semi OR change things before it is too late - he seemed to do neither and made the changes too late

We’re playing in a European semi final at Selhurst on Thursday, and then hopefully a final on the continent at the end of the month.

I’d really recommend just trying to enjoy the next few weeks - it could be decades before we experience it again.

No, but player availability does - we lost Munoz, Sarr and Kamada for a couple of months, and lacked alternatives of similar quality or profile.

Glasner did not handle himself well, but his complaints re the state of the squad in December were accurate.

We also lost Richards at pretty much the same time as Munoz & Sarr were out, so at that time the right side was extremely seriously depleted.

If you are referring to the Bournemouth game, I was at the match.

The first half was atrocious, no getting away from that. But even then we were only losing to an own goal and one of the most ridiculous penalty awards I’ve seen .

Tobe honest think 2 years move on for clubs of our size is about right , its got to be frustrating that just as you build a side , there sold on , nothing you can do about it sadly ,

It depends how you define “ going far “.
He’s not likely to get a call from Real Madrid anytime soon but he won’t have a problem getting another job especially if we win the Conference League .

I mean he’s gone plenty far in management already, having won multiple trophies across different clubs and countries.

He’s been successful everywhere he has been.

We're a fairly predictable, pedestrian team, but Munoz ups the dynamic with his relentless pressing and raids into space down our right.
He's been the out ball for us into space and teams like City, Liverpool and Villa have been unable/ unwilling to counter his threat.

However, Munoz has not been at his best this season and has posed nothing like the threat as before.
Hence Glasnerball loses it's key component.
Why has Glasner not tried to adapt?
I genuinely have no idea.
He's all about efficiency and surely he can see that we have not been 'efficient ' in many games this season particularly in transition where Munoz proved so important last season.

The criticism here should surely be aimed at our failure to source a similar profile to alternate with Munoz, knowing we were likely to have a 50+ game season.

As you say, he’s key to the system, and our only back ups are Clyne and Devenny - that’s absurdly bad squad planning. Comically bad.
