Glasner Out

Seriously, why would Glasner want to stay?

The only possible reason would be if he lacked better offers – more money or greater prestige or more generous backing from ownership or a location closer to home & family. Surely other clubs can offer some or several of these enticements. Yes, he might remain out of loyalty to club or players, but then why would he have told Parish last fall that he was leaving?

Glasner will be moving on I have no doubt.
We just have to hope Parish and his colleagues have their arses in gear and get us a good replacement and back him or her with some financial clout to replace whichever players bugger off.

I wanted Glasner out after the comments and very poor form. Delighted to admit I was wrong, fair play to Parish, Glasner and the players for turning it around.

I’d absolutely take him if he was interested but he’s not.
He lost me against Sunderland anyone that throws the kids under the bus with out proof sorry will always say thank you but that's is poor management , and will always back the kids

Yeah I completely understand, I lost respect for him definitely and I don’t like him, but (unless it is against a low block and/or with a really bare bones squad) he is clearly a very effective coach.

Curious where Glasner now Places this season after his earlier quotes;

"If we have 32 points after 26 rounds, it's the second-best season ever at this stage. In eight of the last 10 seasons, everyone would have been celebrating."

"But on the other side, again, this is one of the best Premier League seasons within the last 10 years"

"It was maybe the best year in Crystal Palace history—top seven, two trophies, playing in Europe. Now we have a difficult period, but it's still the second-best season."

we can be fairly certain that Glasner has already lined up his new career. They are all keeping it hush hush.

If we win the CL then it's a success.

We clearly lack the depth to compete on all fronts but if we pick up another trophy, qualification for Europe again next year, and stay in the PL... happy days.

Its everything's fault, except the manager and his obsession with a system that nobody else uses, his partner in crime, Amiron, when he was sacked Man Utd had 4 points more than us, now they have 21 points more than us, the change to 4-2-3-1 was the reason, leaving Glasner the only fool to keep waiving the insane 3-4-2-1 flag.

We’re playing in a European semi final at Selhurst on Thursday, and then hopefully a final on the continent at the end of the month.

I’d really recommend just trying to enjoy the next few weeks - it could be decades before we experience it again.

When Amiron was fired United sat 6th in the league 17 point behind Arsenal many variables have happened since then and Carrick has been over hyped. (The big teams have been very inconsistent this season with many of them not even in the fight)

United has far better players and bigger squad plus they are fighting on 1 front only.

We have been poor in the league and it's not the manager it's the players very clear to see again at weekend.

The negatives I will say about manager is yes he could when he rotates be more positive with dropping in some youth and I didn't like how he kept going on about this is our best point tally when that is meaningless league position is what matters not how many points you have.

I don't think it will happen but if the players don't sort there mind set out we really could last game of the season be fighting to stay in the league (Luckily West Ham lost past weekend)

Clubs with more squad strength in depth than Palace have struggled with the extra workload that European competition brings.

And I think it’s fair to say that this seasons signings have not been a collectively great success.

On the face of it our best chance of any more points this season looks like being against Everton- a bogey team for Palace.

I think we’ll stay up but could do a ‘ Spurs ‘ and finish 17th.

Not great of course and only acceptable if we win the Conference League

I expressed pretty much the exact same thoughts on the 2 more points thread.

I wonder how similar the current situation is to the run-in to the 2013 season?

Then, the players effectively seized control from Holloway for the play-off final.

Maybe we have a similar situation now. A strong group of players and a manager on his way out.

Why would they listen to him as he’s made it clear he’s going?

I’d like to think that the players will be making sure they get to the Conference Final and targeting one of our remaining Prem games for the points we need to stay up.

But, that may be wholly wishful thinking!

Because he's already won a European Cup with Frankfurt, an FA Cup and Community Shield with us and most of our players have never played in Europe before.

Can say what you want about him being a bit of a t***, being tactically inflexible and so on, but nobody can really deny that he knows how to win a trophy.

Spot on. And to be fair, if Glasner did chop and change his tactics everyone would say he didn’t know what he was doing.

Glasnerball is the system that finally won us the FA Cup after so many near misses. It has seen us score 3 times in a Euro quarter final and semi final against experienced European sides. It has seen us lift the charity shield.

Some of the passages of play I have witnessed under Glasner have left me almost speechless with their ruthless effectiveness. None more so than the FA Cup final goal which was essentially a microcosm of his system. Our only hope of winning this trophy is he has two more tactical masterclasses to impart on this group and he will leave a legend.
