Glasner Out

Brennan Johnson , subject to a £35M bid from Palace is having talks with Glasner today. The fee is agreed, but i think the player is after assurances.
I reckon if Johnson signs, it is a prime indicator that Glasner is staying. If Johnson doesn't sign, then we know what to expect **

**But what the f-ck do I know ? 😀

Enzo Maresca has left his role as Chelsea manager with the club sitting fifth in the Premier League: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c8exj6w3y41o

'Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and Bournemouth counterpart Andoni Iraola are also likely to be considered'

No manager would ever have job security at Chelsea FC given their delusions of grandeur.
Just seen this about Maresca.
Would seem he is on borrowed time.

My first thoughts were that they would come in for Glasner, though I can't see Palace letting him go until the summer.

Iraola maybe more of an option. Bournemouth are about to sell their best player, they are on a bad run so he may want out.

All precarious though. All of sudden our season hinges on the Johnson deal, if he doesn't sign after speaking to Glasner it's a clear indication he is off.

False alarm

John Terry appointed as Interim until end of this season...although might Glasner be targeted after that?

Rosenior's to take if he wants it. Good rep and at Strasbourg, Chelsea's associated club. If it happens, that knocks one we have been linked with when Glasner goes

Glasner is our best ever manager, simply because he got the team over the line and put a cup and a shield in the trophy cabinet. That said, I have been thinking how it was a close run thing for Pardew, and looking at his team that ran out for the cup final there are a few in there who I would prefer over starters in Glasner's team. Pardew's win percentage isn't that different from Glasner's, only a disastrous late run of results meant he quite naturally had to go, no hard feelings.
What does it all mean? It's a game of close margins...
It was a bit worse than that. He got sacked on 22 December a calendar year when we picked up 26 points, 11 worse than any of the other 16 teams who played the same 12 months in the PL

Was said on radio earlier that chelsea insiders have said that they're not interested in ollie. Doesn't fit their profile apparently.
Let’s face it, they want a yes man who will play the players they have purchased, often for non footballing reasons.
OG isn’t that bloke.
Blueco already own Rosenoir so I’ll bet he is their next victim, or beneficiary of a nice payout when they sack him.

Ollie is hoping Will isn’t seriously injured because he wants to play the same eleven against Sandcastle. I’m guessing Johnson won’t play even if he signs tomorrow. I’d like to see him play with Deveney in Pino’s position. He’s more natural on the left. Might be worth playing Pino a little deeper alongside Wharton. He clearly doesn’t trust Canvot to start ahead of Lerma in the centre back position.

Canvot is new to English football and still learning the position, so I do not think it is a question of trust. Otherwise, why start him against Brighton after his mistake in Europe?

Canvot is also vastly inexperienced, having only played 18 games in 'Ligue 1' before joining us.
Lerma has over 470 games to his name and is no stranger to playing in central defence.

If you put Pino next to Wharton we’ll have no bite in the midfield at all. You need at least one battler in midfield when you play with a two. Pino is too lightweight.

I honestly can’t see a space for him in our set up if Johnson and Sarr are available. He would be ok perhaps in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 midfield but that ain’t happening under OG.

Given the number of games we have + injuries, suspensions & Afcon, we will need some rotation

DK is pretty lightweight but worked well alongside Wharton
