Glasner Out

I'm still not sure if I was the one with the choice if I'd pull the trigger (better the devil you know). But am starting to find some of this in game management baffling to say the least.

If Leeds at home with 10 men isnt a time to really go for it, when is?

Its a real shame because with all the attacking reinforcements, it feels like this is about as strong as out attack has every been. Certainly if we are looking at depth.
Exactly this! with 38 points on the board (almost certainly safe), playing against ten men at home what is there really to lose (1 point obvs) to throw the dice and try to win the game when I saw Matteta was coming on I thought wow 4-4-2 playing two big men up front lets go but then he just changed the players and kept the same system, wtf?! I know he has years of exp and I am just a fan but honestly this just doesn't make sense.

I never for a moment considered that Glasner would pair Mateta with JSL.
I adjudged correctly, for once, that Mateta would replace JSL.

Glasner will take the point rather than risk nothing every day of the week and twice on Sunday's .

He is first and foremost a don't lose manager with his attacks based on transition , its why we are crap when we have the ball as nobody knows what the manager wants them to do with it . What we may as well do in possession is give the ball back to the opposition then nick it back and score .

Its a simple game , COYP !

JSL cost 48m and is obviously our main striker now. Is Glasner under instruction to put Mateta in the shop window? He openly wanted to leave and indeed was on the verge of a move. Why is he getting game time? This season he's been absolute s*** and hopefully will be gone in summer.

OG knew that Leeds were coming out for 2nd half with 10 men. Understand he wants to see how they are rejigged and set-up thus, where the weak points may be but it took us until 60th minute to react and make a change and get JP and Wharton on - into the same formation. Is 2 big men up top verboten or too much risk for Larnaca game?

Has probably already been mentioned but I just saw a clip of Glasner's post match interview. Very prickly. Even asked the reporter if he knew what he was talking about.
I have to say I'm getting a bit bored him him batting away all criticism with the same 'these 2 seasons are the best in Crystal Palace history'. While statistically thats true I would say our team in the early 90s was more gung ho, more entertaining. Especially now Eze our creator has gone. Was hoping Guessand might plug some of that gap.
One thing which annoyed me and is completely untrue is he claimed before he arrived Palace fought a relegation battle every season. Rubbish. Theres a difference between residing mostly in the bottom half and being in a relegation battle. The reality is (despite the hysterical pant wetters claims) we have not been even close to being relegated for 6 or 7 years now. I think Sam Allardyce and Roy Hodgson are responsible for changing our mindset and establishing Palace as an ever present in this division.

He’s clutching at straws because he doesn’t know any other way to play.
Go glasnor as I’m getting sleepy with your style

Henderson

Munoz Richards Lacroix Mitchell

Hughes/Lerma Wharton

Johnson Sarr Guessand

JSL

It's balanced, it has width, it will give JSL service, and it plays to strengths. We might even get an overlapping wide player!

When you like your job/want to keep it, you are way more enthusiastic and positive even in the hard times.. you steer it away from failure and look to onwards and upwards - all glasner has done is try save his bacon so that he can still get new suitors..

Nketiah is listed as being available from 11 April (keep the cheering down) and he might be the preferred option or possibly more likely to play alongside JSL. Maybe not.
Munoz is expected to be fit for Thursday.

My preference, same back 5 as yours with

Wharton Hughes
Kamada
Sarr JSL Guessand

Although I’m not the biggest fan of Kamada, I believe his strengths better suit being in a 3 man midfield where he gets to play behind the striker.

All conjecture however as we won’t ever see it.

I'm not Nketiah's greatest fan, but to give him the benefit of the doubt he hasn't played alongside JSL yet. Who knows, maybe it will work. Depends on how the next manager sets up really. Could be just as possible that the club sees the error of its transfer policy and tries to recoup some of the outlay on him. It was suggested that he was off to the Spam just before his injury...
