OG as a manger has only ever stayed at a club for 2 years. This will not change with Palace, OG will have his eye on the next big project, which I'm sure will be a step up from us.I have been a Palace supporter for 70 years and in that time there have been the usual ups and downs that all clubs and their supporters experience. But I think the club is in danger of sleep walking into a mess. IMHO we have had the amazing good fortune to get the best manager we have ever had. He has level of vision, ambition and talent that I have not seen in all those years. But the down side is that we have a chairman who seems to be taking this all for granted and who, if he is not careful, will drive a frustrated OG away. Yes, SP was a former player and knew the game but that was then. It does not mean he is qualified to to make or interfere in managerial judgements. Look at the number of former players from all divisions who have found themselves out of their depth and learnt some costly lessons.
So my plea to SP is, STICK TO BEING A CHAIRMAN, GET YOUR WALLET OUT AND LET OG DO HIS JOB. You will be making the lives of the supporters a bit more bearable.
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty certain he'll be gone at the end of the season.
I just hope they are looking into a replacement that is a passionate and technical as OG is.
As for SP, I've not seen him put a foot wrong in 15 years. When everyone was kicking off about a lack of direction 18 months ago, SP had already secured OG as a manager for the next season. Because Roy turned out to be rubbish (who knew!!) OG came in sooner.
