VAR appeared to have guessed as photos dio not show contact with the hand, but movement of the shirt what does that mean.

VAR also ignored the self defence aspect but apparently Harry Maguire being hit by the ball is more dangerous than Tonali kicking your head off.

I actually think that the ball does hit his wrists but I also think it isn’t conclusive enough and obvious enough for VAR to get involved.
What a shame though, not!!

Still, they're standing over the Maguire handball goal - mainly by trying never to mention it again. Did it ever happen if we don't mention it? Will the obvious cheating ever turn people away?This one 'not going away'.

I watched MOTD and the Forest highlights and I was in no doubt it had hit his arm. I’m pretty sure the images reviewed by VAR at the time and shown on MOTD showed it go in off his arm.

Dermot Gallagher insisted this morning, in a triumph of ex post facto reasoning, that VAR was right to disallow the goal because subsequent information, that they obviously didn't have, showed the ball hitting his arm.
