Fiorentina... Florence Nightingale or Florence Nightmare ?

I went to Florence 2 years ago took a train from Bologna, I used the train service extensively on that holiday and it was fine.

So if people are having problems flying into Florence I would definitely recommend flying to a nearby city and taking the train. Also Pisa is just a short hop from Florence you can do it and get back to Florence in half a day.
Sienna is even better

Thanks and what are the real rivals where it gets a little toxic. Either with locality or history. Palace are a one town club and I think a few palace fans also have a soft spot for Croydon AFC and Bromley who are on the verge of an amazing promotion to league 1.
Above all others, our sporting rival, since 1982 when they stole our title, is Juve (referred to as 'Gobbi' - Hunchbacks). A long story to explain but this old article explains it well....

Fiorentina v Juventus: a rivalry stoked by 'theft', Roberto Baggio and machine guns

After the 'Calciopoli' scandal where they were behind controlling matches/referees (in addition to all their other scandals) we looked back in hindsight and realised the numerous times we've been cheated by them. We got fined heavily for a whole curva 'Juve Merde' tifo last season, so animosity is always there.

Pisa is the 'local'/Tuscan derby and to a far lesser extent, we have the 'Appennine' derby with Bologna and Empoli or Livorno (both Tuscan), depending on who's been in the same division. They're seen as insignificant/annoying smaller neighbours, so akin to how you see Charlton or Millwall I guess?!

Precisely!
Although I've nothing against Dulwich Hamlet
I'm told Ipswich folk also refer to Norwich folk as "Hunchbacks"

Charlton ? Never heard of them. Is that a football club ? Founded by Bobby Charlton ?

Oh and realistically I think we can progress but only if we stop hitting the bloody woodwork and finish our chances. Weirdly I think Pino may be our secret difference maker.
Pino made a lot of difference in Larnaca; I think 'European refereeing' may suit him; I also thought he got more freedom to play to his own strengths rather than OG's philosophy; these could well coincide again.
