Fiorentina... Florence Nightingale or Florence Nightmare ?

The think it will suit us better to play against a team that will have less terror of us (lets face it, most of the teams we have played so far have just parked the bus, time wasted and dived their way to a result).
The Viola are a proud and respected club in Italy. They will not want to be seen as being overly defensive. If we nick a result at home. A 1-0 win or even a draw I fancy us to go through because they will have a real go in Tuscany in front of their own fans.

2-0 on aggregate. (Strand-Larson & Sarr)
Trust me. We aren't good enough defensively to play that way! A lot will depend on which version of Fiorentina turns up, but I'm hoping for the attacking one. A draw would still be a positive result due to 2nd leg at home.

I certainly agree regards the quality of the referees we’ve had in the Congo League - bordering on L players standards

Yet what do we expect to be honest I’m sure the last ref did Sunday league under 12s in Latvia

But we need to focus on what wins games
Creativity , team work, moving off your marker, making runs not standing still on or off the ball , taking on your marker
Or am I getting confused with u12 in Latvia style ?

a shout out for Angelo Di Livio who stayed with the club when they were demoted to their version of the National League for corruption, bit like Nat Clyne when he stayed with us in administration but with knobs on

I went to Florence 2 years ago took a train from Bologna, I used the train service extensively on that holiday and it was fine.

So if people are having problems flying into Florence I would definitely recommend flying to a nearby city and taking the train. Also Pisa is just a short hop from Florence you can do it and get back to Florence in half a day.

Who said we'd play defensively? I thought it was obvious if Fiorentina have a real go it enables us to play our game. Soak up pressure high up the pitch, get passes into the runners, hit them on the break.
If thats the way the second leg goes, we'll win

Just to clarify, I never implied you (Palace) would play defensively at all. I was commenting on us (Fiorentina) in response to your comment: "The Viola are a proud and respected club in Italy. They will not want to be seen as being overly defensive".

Fiorentina have generally been one of the most attacking of Italian teams. Under Palladino last season, we played a bit deeper/low block which worked well against better teams. This season, we've tried out of necessity to be more defensive at times but it just doesn't work! Our best performances have been when we've pressed and been braver and more experimental in attack combined with being calmer and pragmatic when under pressure.
