FA Cup Final Display

View attachment 1007This would be a good banner .
See no reason why gold members are not also loyal fans. We sold 30k final tickets in 1.5 days, we only have 18k season ticket holders. If there are approx 12,000 gold members this gave the club a significant additional income of perhaps £500,000. Our fanbase has grown significantly since 2010. Those of us who dont have a season ticket currently but had them pre 2010 before the loyalty points scheme was introduced are still loyal fans! We desperately need a bigger stadium such as more fans can become a season ticket holder. Otherwise it will become like a closed shop where even if you want to buy a season ticket you cant and only existing season ticket holders can add to their bumper loyalty points tally. I support the idea of the club reviewing the loyalty points scheme.

Because it encapsulates perfectly the idea of a fan falling in love with their club, because the image was famous and heavily associated with the club (so much so that the club interviewed Ethan at the time and then again 2 or3 years later). It’s pretty obvious why it was chosen. There’s nothing political i can see, no virtue signaling and you’ve not been able to highlight any reason why. (You claiming it is obscure has nothing to do with virtue signaling).

You, of course, are under no obligation to explain yourself but this is a discussion site, you post opinions you are going to get called out. You refuse to explain them you get called out again and you make yourself look quite the fool.
I know nothing about this being 'heavily associated' with the club.
Do you think that the majority of fans, and more importantly, the millions watching on TV have a clue what it was about?

If you can't see why this is niche, obscure and why some might see it as virtue signalling, then maybe it is you who is the fool.

I'm happy for you to be happy with it, and I accept your explanation as to why you are. You're presumably not a member of the HF, so you are only guessing as to why the image was chosen.
You have taken it upon yourself to defend it without actually knowing what you are defending.

That is the same process as my assumption that it was virtue signalling. I don't know for sure, and you don't know for sure.

Do you see how it works now? I make an observation, and you are free to agree or disagree with or without justification. I don't require you write an essay about why. I don't care. Neither in fact do I actually care that much about a display at a football match. It was a casual observation.

Why do you care so much about what I think and why I think it? You seem a little obsessed.

I haven’t actually defended the image, as I do even know WHY you say it’s virtue signaling, and you won’t say. I haven’t even made an assumption that it Isn’t virtue signaling, I’ve indicated that I cannot see any reason to think it is. You have not explained, at all, why you think it is, and that is all I’ve tried to get from you. You asked me to think why that image might have been chosen, I gave you my thoughts. Why do YOU think it was chosen?

Thought the last TIFO was great however the fact I had to research it a bit to understand the context took something away from it on the day. Felt a bit like an 'insider' thing representative of a small group of fans as opposed to the entire fanbase.

I'd prefer something that represented fans as a whole, that we all immediately recognise on the day, such as an Eagle. That's just my preference of course.
Yes I’ve got to admit as it was being gradually revealed at the game I thought it was Donna Summer at first 🤣
But moving on from my ignorance and once I see it and delved into it myself, it did look impressive even if the rest of the nation was hitting Google like us☺️

So you are one that thinks its ok for a gold member for one season with no loyalty points gets tickets to the final ahead of someone who is a life long member with 8000 loyalty points . The mind boggles .

I've been polite so far. Now I'm feeling the urge not to be.

Time to end this conversation.

Season ticket holders with 8000 points could have got a ticket yesterday. I dont know know many gold memberships the club sold.
If loyalty points were in place from when I started supporting the club in 1977/78 Id have probs about 24,000 points by now so make no apology for making the smart move and have belief b4 the quatrerfinal we could get to Wembley.
Its im part due to the short leadtime before the game that we all had to act quickly. Back in 1979 we had to queue at the stadium for hours to get one of the paltry 17000 tickets on offer.
Hopefully the FA will do the right thing and give more tickets to Palace fans🤞

I didnt say season ticket i clearly stated member , give your glasses a wipe . Ive done enough queing up to get tickets , you are not on your own there . I just think they should have gone by loyalty points instead of how much you spent on your membership that season . Maybe they can give us a section of the City's they prob wont sell all theirs .

I dont need to give my glasses a wipe sunshine. I mentioned gold members because we know there are 18,000 season ticket holders and we sold 30,000 cup final tickets by the middle of the afternoon yesterday, so there might be 12,000 plus.
I hope they give Palace more tickets, the demand is very high.
They allocated the phasing balancing different things. What about young fans who have only started supporting the club in the last few years and have only a few loyalty points, arent they allowed to want a ticket to the final as well?
If I was a member with 8,000 points I could have upgraded to a gold member and bought yesterday. I realise that what might anger those fans would be that they didnt know this until only a few days ago that the club would make that decision. The priority rankings should be flagged earlier when the memberships are offered.
Suggest you contact FAB or the club giving them your views and hope the phasing is more acceptable to you the next time.
So I definitely see where youre coming from and hope the club with FAB will review everything as hopefully we will be getting to many more finals in future. ATB

Because out of everything they could have done, they decided to have a picture of a little black kid, it's not hard to work out is it, like how every advert on tv is now represented by an lgbtq interracial relationship. Of course it's virtue signalling.

Wait, this is because the kid was black? Having any image of a black person is virtue signaling? No wonder he didn’t want to say so. Obvious nonsense

I am one the first to call out virtual signalling and the HF for their political messages. I honestly did not see anything that was virtue signalling or wrong about the Tifo at all.

It was a nice moment a few years ago that we showcased.

You obviously have the right username.

Let's be honest here, if you are capable. Neither of us know the motives for the choice for certain, but given the self confessed political persuasions of the HF and its rather obscure nature, it really isn't much of a stretch to think that ethnicity was a factor.

Now if we had Wright, Bright, Zaha, Olise and Eze on a banner, no one would be thinking about motive because they are some of our greatest ever players.

Do you see the difference? One is obscure to 90% of people, and the other has a clear and obvious message that all will understand.

Now I have spent 100 times longer on this than I intended, so over and out.
