FA Cup Doncaster predictions.

I know what you're saying POG, but, the U21's are away to Stoke with a 14.30 ko same day.
Oops, I'd missed that Eagleman, so thanks for pointing it out. Well, at least it should be an opportunity for some of those who usually warm the bench.

Surely a good opportunity for Ollie to give some of our promising U21s a start. These cup games are traditionally unpredictable though, so Mateta needs to be on standby in case we need a boost in the final quarter.

We'll win with a clean sheet, I'm going 0-4 and Leyton Orient in the next round.
OG did say we would be fielding a strong team. Read into that what you will, and as has been said, the U21s play Stoke Monday afternoon.

The U21s are currently 12th in their league as well and will want to finish in the top 16 for when the knockout stage comes and if possible in the top 12 so as to be invited to play in next season's International competition. (I think I've got that right). Stoke are currently bottom so we won't want to slip up.

Eze & Nketiah are out, Richards has been 'ill' but should be ok & Franca could be included.

Great how Glasner gives such a clear concise round up re our players condition. Very good news about Franca. Wharton also.
Doncaster are the lowest team in the league to still be in the cup, so we got a lucky draw. Plus they only played on Wednesday. It sounds good for us. I will be surprised if they get much joy.
Im going 0-3.

Yep, I love it. Much more visibility than we've had before.

Also liked the chat about looking for a CB, and trusting what we have. Smart pragmatic chap.

Shame about Nketiah, would have been good to give JP a rest.

Yes great news on the injuries ,fingers crossed they can both get up to speed without any setbacks .Im particularly worried about the young Brazilian on that score but it will be good to see him back on the pitch
Seeing as we dont play our game until Monday night I dont think them playing last Wednesday will have any bearing at all .Even our second stream should have too much for them but given that Glasner will play a few regulars I would expect a comfortable win , 2 maybe 3 nil

At this point in the competition and with a shot at Europe imo being slim at best, we need to go all out and try to advance even further. I think OG will give some outside guys some needed playing time but we should still have enough to get the job done even though Doncaster is a pretty good side for a league two outfit.

Doncaster 1 Palace 3

I doubt Mateta will play until it's clear that Nketiah and Kamada won't work. And he'll come on if we can't score. Same for Eze, maybe Sarr, maybe Munoz. However, annoyingly we've little choice but to start the back three. Unless we start someone like Clyne in the back three and use Kphora. My issue with Kphora is that he's young but not as quick as I expected.
Glasner already confirmed Eze is sitting this game out so his foot can recover

Might need to rely on JPM to grab the goals as Eze out and Nketiah. Shame for the latter as he needs game time to try to get up and running as he has been underwhelming since his transfer. Even though Ipswich lost to Soton Delap looked a real handful. In light of this Nketiah's not wanted big club striker move doesn't look great at the moment. Anyway u can't win always in the transfer matket. Time will tell. Nice to see Chillwell match fit after his loan move n ready to go. OG will still put out a strong squad come what may, think we will edge it 1-2 with Sharp inevitably scoring for them off the bench. COYP!!

I'm expecting us to do what we did the last time we played them in the FA Cup. Comfortably ahead at half time and then manage the game second half giving some regular bench players (plus Chilwell and Franca) some minutes 0-2 again.

Yes, you are correct it is a concern for £20m and we have not seen much of him for two years, the press in Brazil have been proved correct when they reported he was injured when he came in and he still has a lot to prove. lets hope he not going to be an expensive Ferguson keeping the medical team employed!

It will be really really cold. Anyone going up will need a 4x4 and ski's to get about. You'll need thermal underwear and long trousers, scarf and hat.

Southerners aren't built like hardy Noocassel fans. It's grim ooop north

Do you also need a flat cap, an old bike painted black, a loaf of Hovis, a Jack Russell, a pair of ferrets and some pigeons in the loft?

Would really love to see us wallop someone. Wharton starting and threading balls through to the front 3 and Esse picking the ball up in the pockets should give us a different dimension to our usual direct, transition reliant football. We've looked limited when we have to break a defence down like Stockport so it'll be nice to see an improvement there (no idea how these play but let's assume we have 60% possession and pin them back for most of the game)

4-0 us, why not

I am expecting us to win 0:2 too, but in my mind we don't score until the second half.

What a great time to be playing this sort of game, the opportunity to give the fringe players a run out also rest the ones that have taken knocks recently .Looks like 0-2 Palace with Eddie getting on the score sheet.

Save ourselves for Everton who will be a tougher test…..

Definitely want to see Esse and Nketiah play and see how they perform against a lower grade team. I’m expecting an easy win
I have predicted a victory but I do not envisage it being an "Easy win".

Doncaster might be playing in League Two, but they are riding high in the promotion places and have only lost 3 of the 15 home League games. Their successes this season will have infused them with confidence and they will be competitive in front of their home supporters.
