FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

From a Macc fans point of view, I was shocked with Marc and Whartons performances, Marc seemed to compensate for the lack of pace in the game especially in the 2nd half but one player who was completely off was Sosa, how he stayed on the pitch was great for us because he was never in control of the football and it allowed us to bully your ball possession because you didn’t shift it quickly enough.

I will always have now a soft spot for Palace because you are a genuinely a great football club!

This was a blip!
Thank you for posting. From our point of view it was a truly embarrassing game and not a single senior Palace player can hold their heads up. The couple of kids that started did ok considering all around was letting them down.
We will have to live with this result for all the wrong reasons, but that should not diminish what you achieved.
By showing solidarity, hard work and commitment you played us off the park and fully deserved your victory.
Ps Sosa is not actually a footballer, it was all just a joke!

Yeah Sosa is actually a long running piece of performance art that just goes over our heads

I’m 59 years old, and I feel like a little kid that can’t wait for the draw tomorrow, we are also in the 5th round draw for the FA trophy tomorrow but my guess is the players will have over celebrated and we will lose to Woking, not a bad thing as we have fixture pile up now and we play 46 league games too!

He is like that chap the BBC once paraded as a special guest on the news who was actually there for a cleaning job interview. He just sat there and kept smiling.
Now I come to think of it, palace did advertise a job for the tea hut in the Arthur???

As someone posted earlier, I hope you get Brighton and beat them. That’s the only way the record could be broken

Congratulations to Macclesfield on a fully deserved victory.
Jolly well done.
I wish Macclesfield well in the cup and league.

I note that every other Premier League side that was up against lower league opposition in the cup games this weekend won - some of them rather comfortably, which puts our dreadful performance into sharp relief. Rather than calming down since yesterday's horror show I have found myself becoming more and more apoplectic at our feeble capitulation. GGrrrr.

Akk very well but that's still only 5 matches and there are 17 more to play. I've seen too much over 50 years to not be slightly nervous.
Spoken like a true Palace fan! I'm 57 myself and hear you. If Oldham can gain 9 points from 3 games then surely West Ham can reel us in with 17 to play!

Personally I'm sticking to the belief that the core group is very talented when fit and Mr Glasner remains a very good manager. At the moment too many key players for his system are injured and all the ingredients for the upset were there yesterday.
Early kick off tick
Unfamiliar line up tick
Motivated opposition at home tick
Northerners tick

That's not saying we shouldn't have done better though, we should've. Hopefully we will get players back soon and have a good end to the season similar to the start.

Just managed to bring myself to these pages and face up to the reaction. What a truely abysmal performance, and one I lay at squarely at the feet of OG. He hasn't done much wrong in his time here, but how you can send a team out so drastically underprepared mentally and technically. They played as though it was a forgone conclusion, and could win it at 20%. no urgency, no desire, no focus. they looked like a team who have not played together before (and due to the amount of games we've had recently, and the apparent lack of training/preparation of the first teamers, they probably haven't). That's not an excuse though. OG is the one to manage that and put 11 players out on the pitch who are prepared to play the game. Everyone of our 11 were 2nd best to their Macclesfield counterpart. It didn't even improve after the break, where his move was to take off the youngsters. no evidence of motivational ability.

You can say the players on the pitch should have enough, but their attitude stank. Macclesfield on the other hand wanted every ball, and were much more effective than were were, passing moving us around. when they had the ball.
We had no ideas with the ball and resorted to over the top long balls often over (or under) hit, which gave the ball back to them. when we weren't doing that, we simply passed it straight to them along the ground.

I don't think OG should go. but this is a bad sign that he is starting to reach his limit with this side. I expect him to turn this around, but it doesn't look good.

Nobody is blaming the world… we’re blaming Ollie 😂😂😂
palace fans are to close to get a better picture step back , the manager is the easy target but is paid less than the players , a system that brings success you stick with and try tweaking it dont do wholesale changes that will only bring total chaos ,
its soon as we start having a bad patch (which is only 4 week spell) its sack the manager , gut reaction is not always best way to go , were hurting I get that , but do we really want to start doing the manager merry go round again like the bad old days , were the managers office door was more like a turnstile with a in and out and a conveyor belt

that hits the nail on the head , a manager cant do anything unless he can sub all 11, I looked at the stats for the game it didn't match what I was watching
