Eze to spurs?

Has played in the top flight in Belgium and the PL for 5 seasons.
Never scored more than 3 goals in a season.
Steve Cooper signed him from Genk for £21 Mill.
I shall be very surprised if he is acquired by us.

Whilst true, in fairness to him that gives the impression that he's older than he is (21y 2m). His last season in Belgium was 27 games, 3 goals, 6 assists.

He obviously isn't like for like with Eze but no-one will be.

If the club think there's a player there then I'd trust them. Bigger worry for me would be having Esse and Franca in similar positions in their career. Either we see one of the three as a regular starter, or someone is probably going out on loan.

This is where the Conference League, if it happened, could be a blessing in disguise for our young attackers in giving them starts they might not get in the Europa League.

He's played in 4 'seasons', and one of them 'seasons' was a single appearance having just turned 18.

So in reality he's played two seasons in Belgium aged 18 and 19, and then a debut Prem season aged 20 playing for a terrible side.

I thought he showed some promise last season, and having just turned 21, there's plenty of room for improvement.

Wouldn't be opposed for the right fee.

I stand corrected.

Even last season he managed a goal/assist every 4.5 games - when you consider Leicester only scored 33 all year, that's not a bad return from a kid playing his first season at that level.

Following a message to a learned gentleman I have just received the following :

He has potential but was very inconsistent last season. I think for that price i would look elsewhere

If we are put back in the Europa; get a reasonable start to the year; and again there are three poor teams in the division, there is a case for concentrating on Europe and play more of the youngsters in league games.

TBF, Eze was pretty inconsistent last season as well. Thankfully, he brought his high ceiling to the Cup run
Was thinking this season he might be better - but not for us perhaps. He improved dramatically the second half of last season. I'm thinking Guessand may be the most likely replacement. In the guise of Sarr on the other side - more direct. I was wondering if Ollie prefers inside forwards/ direct attacking midfielders out wide, rather than a playmaker type like Eze? I guess I'd have to bother looking at his previous clubs to see if there could be a preference.

I think your conclusion is broadly correct, although in fairness Eze made a pretty good fist of the left of front three role in the last months of the season.
A good understanding developed between Eze, Mateta, Sarr and Munoz.

Notwithstanding this, if Eze does leave it would be interesting to see a different profile of player in that position.
Guessand looks quick and powerful from the clips and a good dribbler.
A front three of Mateta, Sarr and Guessand sounds an interesting proposition .

I think it’s quite nicely balanced currently with a playmaker like Eze on one side who likes to drop deep and create, and then more of a winger/forward profile on the other side in Sarr who is more likely to make runs in behind.

He's one of my favourite ever palace players but i'd still say he has been quite inconsistant the whole time he has been with us.

Ok, the first season during covid he was finding his feet in prem and second he was out for whole season. Under pv he was very hit and miss and reajy came alive at end oe season under roy. The next season he had injuries and patchy form, much like last season, but hit form (and some!!) at the tail end again.
