Eze to spurs?

I predict Eze will stay at Palace!
I hope so.
In all this discussion on transfers, let's also consider Glasner's view
.
With the current squad I'm sure he'd aspire to a top 6 position with some strengthening necessary for Europe.
He is very ambitious.
Take out our captain and matchwinner - and don't replace them with similar or better quality- the task becomes harder.

Some will say we managed that with Lacroix for Anderson, which is reasonable, but I'm not sure Guehi's consistent excellence and Eze's matchwinning brilliance are so easily replaced.

If the club doesn't match Glasner's ambition and I think we can forget him renewing his contract.

There's two things that accelerate this:

Arsenal have wrapped up Gyokeres
MGW is staying at Forest

Neither club will want to be seen as having lost out to the other and we can play the two off against each other. First to £68m wins.

If it's going to happen hopefully we can make it happen this week and get the replacement(s) bedded in.
I'd like to think there will be a competition for him but am not sure it is going to happen.

Levy is normally miserly and, ironically, when he did pay a release clause for MGW with no competition he failed to land the player. Assuming Arsenal is Eze's preferred destination, if Spurs bid the 68 but Arsenal do not, Eze might still refuse to go there. It could get messy

that's not exactly what i'd call "messy".
If spurs match the buy out clause, we give them permission to speak to eze but he says he doesn't want to go there it's just end of story where they are concerned.

Yes, but then probably no-one else will ever come in, Arsenal will just get encouraged to offer a lower fee and Palace will be left with deciding whether to let him go for what they would rightly feel is a low-ball figure or keep a disgruntled player. That's messy for me
I think Spurs will cut their losses but Maddison and Kulusevski are both injured and they probably want to sell Son

I hope so.

That is the main thing, Perhaps Glasner would like the money to spend on both departures, that is what really counts, nobody likes Eze more than me, but i cant help feeling it will be Grealish all over again if he goes to Arsenal.

I hope he doesn’t copy the hair 😂

Maybe Eze to Liverpool?
I don't think so. Now this has happened Liverpool will be in for Isak. Nunez will also be sold this window, recouping some of their massive cash outlay this summer.

regarding comments that Eze is worth c£55m based on Kudus and Elanga recent sells, Kudus was rubbish last season and Elanga has essentially had one very good season for Forest.

Mbeumo has just gone for £65m with £6m more in add ons. He's 26 next week so only just over 1 year younger than Eze. His contract was only to 2026 (with a 1 year option - to be actioned later).

Both Kudus and Mbeumo will be missing in Jan/Feb for the African cup too.

Based on all 3 transfers i think the £60m release clause with add ons for Eze seems both reasonable and fair.

I saw a post on Facebook, fan asked Eze if he is going to Arsenal… he said “nah I like winning silverware”

Could be AI but funny if true

It's to give them money to bid for isak.
they have wirtz to play in no.10 or on the wing, gakpo can play on the left, as can new signing ekitike who won't be used often as a no.9 if they do get isak.

I think the only comments on Kudus/Elanga was that they are decent yardsticks, which they are - I don't think anyone said Eze is only worth £55m as a result.

I agree Eze's release clause is about right - I don't think we'll sell below it.

Exactly. Eze is better than all of them.

But gives us the confidence to stick with the release clause.
