That reminds me . I was talking to a friend from Malta I used to play football with a while back and the World Cup came up . He was pleading with me ,as if I had anything to do with it to give his country a chance to get to the World Cup finals ,how much it would mean to his nation ect ect .

So why not ? We could have a group of all the most useless , Malta , Gibraltar ,Leichtenstien ,Andorra ,San Marino ect with a WC spot up for grabs .That means a team wont qualify that might have (sorry Scotland ) but one it keeps the dream alive for every nation and two it means we don't have to play the useless tw**S in meaningless qualifiers

I think that was part of the idea behind the UEFA Nations League... obvs not getting to the WC but chance to win a game or two... top a group etc... cant see the other nations ever voting to lose a WC spot though

Actually I’m sure Don Revie was manager when I went to England v Cyprus as a nipper, when Malcolm McDonald got all 5 of our goals, I seemed to remember enjoying that 😀

Well just add another half dozen then ,there are that many at the finals now nobody will notice
