So why not ? We could have a group of all the most useless , Malta , Gibraltar ,Leichtenstien ,Andorra ,San Marino ect with a WC spot up for grabs .That means a team wont qualify that might have (sorry Scotland ) but one it keeps the dream alive for every nation and two it means we don't have to play the useless tw**S in meaningless qualifiers

I think that was part of the idea behind the UEFA Nations League... obvs not getting to the WC but chance to win a game or two... top a group etc... cant see the other nations ever voting to lose a WC spot though
 
Tbh I didn't notice England just played Wales.

I can't get behind Tuchel despite the win, his squad choices are bizarre in places.

I tend to agree. Anyone who selects Henderson and Loftus Cheek to actually play as opposed to just cheerleading in training has his head firmly in the past rather than the future.
 
Well he's off. Hendo, out for Pickford. Wharton, U21s at best, picks Forest players, Henderson, and RLC who frankly never did anything of note.
 
Well thats the formality of qualification over .Tuchel now has I think 6 games to get a squad together that can beat the best next summer .
He has given some players hope of making the plane and others a kick up the backside to do better if they want to return to his thoughts .
 
Henderson & Guehi, unused subs. Kamada 85mins. Lerma came on after 79mins, Munoz unused sub. Richards played whole game. JPM subbed after 89mins. Pino was a 63rd min sub for Spain. Sarr played full match for Senegal. These matches were last night except France, Monday night & USA, early hours this morning BST.

I can see him dropping Eze after this International break. not fancied against Wales, and given 30 mins last night, where he didn't really do enough. Took his goal well, but didn't affect the game much other than that. we all know he's a player whose quiet, until that moment where he does something unstoppable (as was the case last night). Is that enough for Tuchel?
 
In a team where slide rule type passing is what is required to break the defensive lines I do not understand at all why Wharton is not getting an opportunity. As we step up a level, Anderson will be found out and Hendersons age will become a factor.

I would like to see the following front six:

Rice, Wharton
Gordon, Bellingham, Saka
Kane

Eze didn’t look great until his well taken goal and I think it could be a toss up to see who gets on the plane between him, Rashford and Grealish who probably deserves another shot before final selection. Having said that the squad sizes are probably going to be increased because of the heat so that would probably mean

3 x keepers
8 x defenders
3 x strikers
4 or 5 x central midfielders
7 or 8 x attacking midfielders/wingers

There are going to be some disappointments amongst some very good players for sure.
