Dublin - Tickets / Travel / Accommodation / Meeting points / Local knowledge

The St George Flag, for the christian drinking-buddy of St Patrick, St Andrew & St David. It should be a good call.

The 'other' flag, you can wave it if you want. But in Ireland it's called 'the Butchers Apron' and has connotations associated with Glasgow Rangers, The Shankill Butchers, King Billy, Ian Paisley and all that stuff. Chelsea fans like the Union Jack and regularly visit the Shankill road in Belfast to instill their pride in all that.

The Tallaght Stadium : In Block 101 you may even see the odd Irish Tricolour with an Eagle logo. Palace are a bigger club in Ireland than Shelbourne - well it wasnt really that difficult.

You will find almost zero Palace fans living in Fredrikstad, Larnaca or Strasbourg. But very many are hidden in plain sight here in Ireland - one of our local pubs is at Gatwick. Added to the traditional dislike of Brighton & Millwall we also hate ManUre & Liverpool & Everton.... cos their plastic fans are all around us.

An hour ago, Block 101 had about 5 tickets left. I think it's going to be packed with Palace, and even if it's not the away section, I can't see Shelbourne turning away well-behaved punters. I think Shelbourne are more likely to designate 101 as Away, and move any home fans to other places.

I'm also 101 🙊

Let's hope we don't have to go to the other 2 games otherwise our tickets get cancelled 🤣🤣

Would be interested to see how many seats are missing in their first game there 😅

I don't know the ticketing allocation methodology for these matches. This a particular mis-match in terms of numbers of supporters. You would hope Shelbourne have been pro-active with assisting all fans to get tickets, because they want the cash. This is a big-bucks game for them. So Shelbourne might have had to unofficially tweek their designated stands. 101 is going to be rammed with Palace.
But Shelbourne were smart enough to sell two additional match tickets on the back. At around £40 for all three games (or really just the one game) it's still good value

well then i guess Block 102 is our backup ? especially the parts close to Block 101 ?

Ha, got me a ticket 🙂 now just the journey planning to do,...and somewhere to sleep

I do wonder how that most of us have bought home tickets will there be some in the away end? 🤣
There appears to be some commonsense (hopefully) being used. Would people rather take a tiny gamble and go in a home stand with other Palace, not being overly rowdy or giving stewards a hard time.
Or would you rather spend a fortune at the club shop , racking up Loyalty Points in the hope you would somehow navigate the Palace online ticketing system (and get into a high enough tier) and get a ticket (perhaps) a day or two before the game ?
People just want a bit of certainty, to be able to plan their trip over to the Emerald Isle. Block 101 is the Gateway,...if there are any left 🙂
I'm sure they'll be plenty of seats in other home blocks. Just don't upset the locals

That's fair. I blew 200 on the watch to bring my points up to 8,000 to be in with a chance. But now I have the home ticket I'm considering cancelling the order. 🤣

Anyone in plain clothes in 101 should be a palace fan I guess 😅

One other thing I noticed....So shelbourne would have about 3,500 season tickets (estimate guess) as their normal home ground is about 6k and they had pre booking rights. So when I logged in at the 5pm time they went on general sale. The whole of the north stand was pretty much booked out.

There were plenty of tickets left towards the away section. But as the palace fans found out about it the seats seemed to go quickly. So I'd guess we will have a lot in the home section. Just my two pence worth of thought anyway 🤔

I don't know about other Palace fans, but our first proper season in Europe ? Who wouldn't want a bit of that ? And Shelbourne up against a big London club, that'll attract the locals.
I'm sure it'll be fine, as everyone wants a lovely trip to remember, and not being denied access at the ground/getting chucked out , or racking up an overnight stay in a police cell

I did'nt even need my cousins help ( they live Dublin) took 2 minutes 3x tix in east stand which I understand is next to the Palace section...by looks of it their be more palace not in the official section than in it...it seems the package includes admission to the 2 other Shelbourne Euro matches....i'm starting to get a soft spot for this Shelbourne lot...

Oh BTW were all in block 304, is their any reason why so many are in block 101...? Or just coincidence..!

Seems a load sold in 102 now - has that unofficially been taken over by Palace too?
There'll be loads of Palace. Probably throughout the stadium
Like you say, I wonder how many will wait for the Palace Box Office to sell tickets in the official Away section ?
Two points :
1. Remember the venue could still be changed to a bigger stadium (I would assume tickets already purchased would still be valid)
2. I'm going as a foot passenger via Holyhead ferry. I have yet to book, but am hopeful i will see other Palace on the afternoon of the game at Port Dublin. Do we get buses to the city for refreshment ? then how to get to the stadium ?

Any other Palace going from West/North Wales ?
