If your hotel is in Blessington, give yourself extra time for a shyte taxi service. Match-day is likely to be busy. And generally, car transport around Dublin can be a nightmare.
 
Flags.

Both the St George, the Three Lions, AND the irish tricolour ( with a Palace logo of course ) , would be good. Lets show Shelbourne that we got more irish fans than them. Therefore we are a bigger club in Ireland than them.

the Union Flag...union jack.... has always been a little bit controversial on these shores. But for the life of me i cannot say why. It doesnt really bother me. But suffice it to say you would show discretion about wearing Palace colours in a Brighton Housing estate. The Union Flag can elicit a similar reaction among republican types, Sinn Fein voters, people with Palestine flags, Glasgow Celtic shirts, etc. Its probably fine to fly the Jack inside the stadium, but just remember that a small drunken fella wandering a dodgy neighbourhood alone, in the evening, with a Union jack t-shirt....probably not a good idea.....you get the picture. I expect the Shelbourne fans will be fine and well behaved - more interested in football than politics.

And for the sake of balance, be reminded that although there are very many Micks who support Palace, there are probably also a decent number of Nigels who support Shelbourne. Such is the interconnected nature of the modern World.

That is a massive over-estimate; the two most Irish London clubs are Arsenal and QPR.

It would be nice if Palace fans visiting Dublin did so in a happy but respectful way and not parade around like a bunch of EDL flag-shaggers. Many might be surprised to hear that the Irish actually quite like English people (but not English politics) and will get along just fine with English visitors who are there for the craic...
 
When I fly over for match days the whole of Dublin airport is full of Arsenal shirts. Strange thing is i rarely see them when I'm out and about it's mainly Liverpool and manure.

Although less man u these days as they appear embarrassed to wear thier shirts.
 
Must confess I haven't been back for some 20 years...expecting a few changes...! Trying to source my tickets locally thru ' Who u know' ...looking forward to it....

I grew up in a household with an Irish mother from Drogheda, Dad from Forest Hill, I grew up eating Irish white pudding, its Beautiful, much better than Black Pudding. Its just Irish sausage with spice and breadcrumbs and oats (I think)

c) many Eagles in South London have connections to Ireland.
d) Dublin is a wonderful place to wear the Palace shirt & abuse Liverpool & Manchester plastic fans.

e) The memory of the likes of Damien Delaney & Clinton Morrison. Palace have contributed more players to the Republic of Ireland than ever did Shelbourne.
