Just realised we have Burnley Wednesday and Fulham Sunday .Training will have to be sessions of keepy uppy ,or shooting at empty goals ,that’s about all we have energy for 😂

I like JP. In the end analysis he reminds me a bit of Emile Heskey, big and strong, hard working, yet not as clinical as might be possible. This is an honest appraisal, he brings a lot to the side.United stepped up and we weren't at the races second half - need to buy in Jan. I think the Mateta knockers should rein it in a bit - real nerve to retake the pen and was brilliant setting up Mitchell v Strasbourg - he has missed a few I know. Thought Nketiah was starting to shine but showed again today he's worse at 1-1s than JP.

Those are also my thoughts. Relegation or near relegation is a strong possibility whilst we have Thursday night football and Glasners late substitutes and that’s without stating the obvious regarding missed chances - Grrr! Moan Utd would have lost against nearly if not all the prem teams today. Sadly we were poorer. You could see after missing those chances and the five minutes of added time in the first half the tiredness of our team. Substitutions should have been made then and perhaps we would have been fresher? A defeat was on the cards seeing that last 5 mins of first half so no harm trying to protect the lead with fresh legs. Glasner in my opinion was more at fault than those knackered players in my opinion but that doesn’t take away those missed chances - Grrr againLike most of us I like the fact OG wants to win in all competitions. The fact we have a small squad means he has to prioritise though and he isn’t. Consequently our performances have dipped in both competitions.
It’s probably too late now in any case. The damage is done. We can’t get the points back and the squad is already knackered. We run a real risk of not qualifying from teh Conference League and our strong EPL start hasn’t been built on. Hope I am wrong but I think December could be grim and we may find ourselves needing to buy in January to stop us slipping close to the relegation battle rather than challenging for European places.

Then by that logic that comp needs to be sacrificed .Go all out in Conference league .I personally would rather we throw the kitchen sink at the Conference ,don’t know how many on here agree with me .It doesn't matter look at the squad they have quality in every area even off the bench.
We are not getting any rest period either when that game comes up.

Isint that what spurs and man u did last season for the Europa. Once they were safe tbh they threw all their prem games and focused on trying win the cup. Then by that logic that comp needs to be sacrificed .Go all out in Conference league .I personally would rather we throw the kitchen sink at the Conference ,don’t know how many on here agree with me .

Oh for a Granit Xhaka.I said previously that we need a player in the mould of Geoff Thomas with the shot of Darren Ambrose, which is a lot to ask .
Nevertheless I think an experienced midfielder who can help guide Wharton would be beneficial. We don't command the central areas and Kamada and Pino are lightweight. Neither add steel to the midfield nor offer much in attack.
I think a different manager would use the players we have differently. I still remain unconvinced by our midfield and Glasner's pairings.

All true. The summer window was a missed opportunity. It’s also true that OG knew where we stood from the moment the window closed and instead of being pragmatic about using the squad he’s got he’s just run our best 11 into the ground. That’s on him. We know our back up players aren’t that great but you need to play with the squad you’ve got and not the one you wish you had. If that means deprioritising the Conference League so be it. It’s not like consistently rolling out the best 11 has exactly worked in that competition. Would we really be any worse off in it if we’d played squad players? This has probably been commented on but I haven't read the thread. Just seen Glasner talking to TNT saying quite bluntly that we saved rather than spent in the summer, the players haven't had the support they deserve and we've missed the opportunity to have an even better season.
Unfortunately I get the opinion that ultimately it's this that will lead him to leave the club. He was very clear that we needed to invest and early and, honestly, we didn't really do either.
It's difficult because we don't want the club to be run irresponsibly but when you see where we are in the league versus the spend table each season, it does make you wonder where we could be if we just went for it one year.

It could be OG's way of saying to Parish "We need to sign in January, look how it's gone despite all best efforts".All true. The summer window was a missed opportunity. Mr Glasner is extremely clear about his ideas and plans, and he is very candid in what is required to make them happen. I think we can all agree that OG is elite tier in management terms.Just watched OG’s interview on the BBC website. He’s just as upset as we are - but interestingly, criticised the club for not investing in more players in the summer. He felt January was too late to buy new players, as over 50% of the season would have already been played.
Hmmmm…can’t see him being with us next season
