Crystal Palace vs Man Utd match thread

Really, Glasner has no say, 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
How come we miss all those huge chances first half? Same-same aainst Everton, Strasbourg and now ManUnited. And what has happened to Mateta? Alone with the goalie (again) - and not even hitting the target. For sure we need some new recruits and Nketiah as our number 2 striker - what a joke!

You have 0 clue what you are talking about please go and get educated.

Managers do not sign players at Palace.

Nketiah we wanted back in PV days but refused to pay 15m Arsenal wanted for him at the time.

The only signings that the manager may have pushed for would have been Kamada and LaCroix both again when DF was still at the club by the way.
And you know this how, you dont, only in your fairy tale world, managers do not say which players are signed at palace, stop it, my sides are hurting.

Yes I watch the games. I recognise Nketiah, Esse and Uche aren’t as good as fully fit JPM, Sarr etc. You are responding to an argument I’m not making. My argument is I know they aren’t as good but our best players need a rest. Would that mean a lower quality of team in the Conference Legaue? Almost certainly (though it’s not like we’ve performed well as it is). Would it give us a better chance to perform well in the Legaue? Yes.

Right now all we are achieving is subpar performances in both competitions. We need to prioritise

A manager who wants to win every game is not going to put sub par players in he has no trust in.

Most of those players when they had a chance produced nothing we saw this again today.

This is why I said it's OG biggest flaw wanting to win every game he needs to choose his battles.

Arsenal are going to knock us out of Caraboa Cup anyway so that will be solve one issue.

We are in a worrying downward trend.

This is exact repeat of Everton and Strasbourg - competent and good first half but abysmal second.
Is it fitness or tiredness brought on by a heavy schedule?

Sorry, whatever Glasner thinks, Kamada and Pino are sub par for the Premier League no matter how well they played elsewhere.

Our midfield is deficient as even Wharton is playing one touch football. We need him to hold the ball and not ping the ball about most of the time. His one touch through balls are not being taken up front.

If we can get some cash for Guehi in January we absolutely must boost our squad especially his replacement plus someone who can take the chances we create.

If we don't change things then getting to the 38 point target could be a struggle.

How do I know this SP has been very open about how the club is run.

Many of our past managers have said how the club runs.

Again had you gone and educated yourself on the subject not come up with nonsense you would know this.

But we all know you have no interest in the truth just your fantasy bubble.

Like most of us I like the fact OG wants to win in all competitions. The fact we have a small squad means he has to prioritise though and he isn’t. Consequently our performances have dipped in both competitions.

It’s probably too late now in any case. The damage is done. We can’t get the points back and the squad is already knackered. We run a real risk of not qualifying from teh Conference League and our strong EPL start hasn’t been built on. Hope I am wrong but I think December could be grim and we may find ourselves needing to buy in January to stop us slipping close to the relegation battle rather than challenging for European places.

Although JPM is a firm fan favourite, truth to tell, he is a bit of a donkey, and an overworked donkey at that. His skill set is no different from Roy's days, and the missed chances are proving costly. But as you mention, what other choice does Glasner have? Eddie Nketiah does very little in the time he has, and with Sarr out Glasner has a dilemma on his hands.

United stepped up and we weren't at the races second half - need to buy in Jan. I think the Mateta knockers should rein it in a bit - real nerve to retake the pen and was brilliant setting up Mitchell v Strasbourg - he has missed a few I know. Thought Nketiah was starting to shine but showed again today he's worse at 1-1s than JP.

Glasner has said he wants someone to run in behind, like Sarr, hmmm, that sounds like input, 🤣

Despite Thursday's disappointing affair, we played a superb first half in terms of energy and effort. Only our poor individual finishing hurt us.

In hindsight, subbing on Hughes and Lerma at 50 minutes might have been wise, but parking the bus so early would reek of desperation. And making our players defend for 40 minutes could have been more tiring than simply playing straight.

Who?

Playing in a fourth rate European competition isn't doing our understrength squad any good whatsoever.

while i agree, i would prefer to see us exiting the FA cup or the Carabou. Lets try to win in Europe and get into next years Europa league.

i am looking forward to seeing us thumping Shelbourne.

he didnt even try to hide it.

i blame the loss on Strasbourg-fatigue & ManUre having a better Subs-bench than us.
Exactly right. Before the season started we were worried about the impact of Europe and squad depth catching up with us. And here we are. Let’s hope they can pick something up at Burnley. That’s a trip we need like a hole in the head.

I do not see Glasner wanting to win every game as a flaw, if anything it sets standards and helps to drive them upwards. On its day we have a frst choice team that compete with any team in the Premier but beyond that eleven resources become thin very quickly.
Ironically it may help OG if he did rotate as it may highlight how much we need to invest to add depth. However, would it be acceptable if in December the games against Shelbourne, Kups and Arsenal see our first choice team but then for the league games inbetween seven or eight changes are made?
