Crystal Palace vs Leeds match thread

Do we have an option to send Johnson back?? Guessand does not convince me at all. Both can't influence a game against ten men. Pino and Nketiah don't offer me any hope. Good luck to the new manager because he's going to need it.

We've played large chunks of the games against Wolves, Forest, Spurs and now Leeds against 10 and have looked convincing for about 15 mins... But that's largely due to Spurs being so bad. I guess we can count ourselves lucky that we got 8 points from it because 11 Vs 11 we may well have barely scraped a few points.

The only hope is the Conference League provides some entertainment (although not if last Thursday is anything to go by) because right now there is so little to enjoy. There's barely a moment in a game that gets you out of your seat.

The Conference League won't provide any entertainment.. We will most probably go out this Thursday. We've been awful in Europe most of the season.

We must be mad continuing to watch it. Honestly if we go out of the cup and Ollie stays in post, I’m switching off the rest of the season. I can’t stand it. If he doesn’t want to be there how can anybody give a s*** about a game. I feel for some of the players because they do care but it’d rudderless at the moment. Let’s face it, this European experience has been totally s***. Terrible teams with us being one of the worst. We have not played one single game well in the competition and it has had a knock on effect of f***ing up our league too. If somebody had told me in September and October how it would be come March I would have laughed at them. FFS.

As for Johnson again today, how could he have been selected at right wingback after Thursdays display by him? The right hand side was terrible with him, Richard’s and Sarr not having a clue how to get the ball into the box. They constantly passed short balls between them and eventually lost it - Grrrr! I know he is getting on now but it was calling out for Clyne today. We could even have gone to a back four. Glasner doesn’t have a clue how to change things. Another awful performance with another looming on Thursday :-(

Have felt that way for a while. Oh for a Zaha, an Olise or an Eze to bloody take someone on. And this system is useless without wing backs as well. Hopefully we can nick one in Larnaca to keep the European dream going. What was the logic with replacing SL for Mateta? Surely you would keep them both on and try to create some chaos against 10 giants. The boring slow sideways and backwards passing followed by the inevitable inswinger to the keeper was as painful to watch on Thursday as it was today.

Yes Eze has gone but, Jesus, we've spent well over a hundred million on Stand Larsen, Pino, Johnson and Guessand. With the partial exception of Guessand, I believe that the inability to get a tune out of those signings rests with the manager.

If every team in the league played a low block against us and ceded possession, we'd go down. We're that bad against it. Pretty sure that's not the first time we've failed to beat ten men this season either.
 
No Muñoz, no spark.

None of our attacking players pose a 1-v-1 threat, and we seem incapable of delivering a quality cross more than once a month. So we're entirely dependent on set pieces or counterattacks, the latter of which will be absent when playing against 10 men.

The disallowed goal was actually a good looker, too bad it didn't count.
 
Dominik Szoboszlai has come up with a brilliant tactic from free kicks. It's a two part system - 1. Get the ball on target and 2. Don't hit it into the wall.
It's surprisingly effective.

At least we avoided the membership fee. Wish I'd stayed in Scotland today and Thursday. What a waste of time and money for unbelievable dross. At least Cyprus will be sunny hopefully.

I honestly thought Thursday game was just boring but twice in 1 week - is it the Players , the tactics what provides such uncreative side to side front to back passing ?
