Crystal Palace vs. Fulham match thread

Fulham player cheated by pretending he had been hit in the face to get the game stopped, referee followed the protocol therefore lesson should be learnt to Fulham and other teams that decide or are coached to play in this way

I was delighted to see them concede as a result of the cheating - maybe he'll think twice about rolling around like a fairy next time he gets brushed.

I'm sorry...I have to disagree. Its all about our lack of squad depth, not OG. An earlier poster mentioned the strength of Fulham's bench compared with ours...its chalk and cheese. Up until just a few weeks ago we were riding high in the league, looking good and ruing the missed chances that could have meant we were doing even better. AFCON and injuries have weakened the first team significantly. You can't do much about tactics if you don't have the players.
Fair enough. As I say the main issue is definitely squad depth. I think that has been exacerbated by OG’s refusal to rotate the squad more in Europe and not using some players earlier. His game management hasn’t been great recently so he’s not without blame. I think it is about 70:30 to do with the squad vs OG

Sure, that's fair - although I think any manager would struggle to get a tune out of our current line-up - the squad is an absolute state, I think even more so than most realise.

For comparison, Fulham have Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze all at AFCON, as well as injuries to Rodrigo, Sessegnon and King. Despite that, they still manage to name a bench including the likes of Castagne, Cairney, Issa Diop, Harrison Reed, Adama Traore - you're talking 500-odd Prem appearances between those.

Our bench yesterday have about 20 Prem appearances between them.
And Fulham supporters were upset about their lack of transfer activity in the summer. All they did was buy Kevin in September and he has been godawful, especially at 35 million

One witnesses this with goalkeepers rather than outfield players.
Goalkeepers are not required to leave the field of play after receiving treatment.
nice to see you reflected in that corner , you sound like your good old self , dont let it happen again 😍🤣

A word about the referee, Tony Harrington.

I thought he had a good game and penalised the Fulham misdemeanours, booking 5 of them.

You know refs are good when there is no moaning on here about them !
There is plenty, unsurprisingly, from that moany snake Marco Silva!!

Then again, I’d be worried if there wasn’t as it would mean that there is something wrong somewhere in the universe!!

Excellent name. The Moany Silva Snake. Hopefully an endangered species.

I also thought the ref was consistent and prepared to let minor contact go. The highlight for me was in the second half and JP was chasing down Joachim who threw himself to the ground and the ref played on. He then proceeded to book Joachim for spitting out his dummy.

It’s always hard to take when Palace struggle. Player wise it’s hard to know howOG gets any sort of a tune out of the players left fit.
Let’s face it the present line up would only normally have been used against inferior opposition in one of the cups, our second string with a smattering of experience is what it is. The bench doesn’t improve anything.
This situation was easy to see coming, but not easy for the club to deal with apparently. Our best line up would have won some of our recent loses but ,hey ho, new signings maybe, and injuries clearing up and we will get those results again, just a matter of time.

The squad has to be good enough to rotate, we may have gone out of Europe if he had rotated more.
Before Fulham there were many saying the bench was the weakest it has been but afterwards the lack of use was criticised.

Ha ha ha Silva. How about some reflection on your cheating attempts
Yes.

Got what they deserved. He should fine his own player. If he hadn't feigned a head injury he wouldn't have needed to go off.

There's a sort of black humour to it, which appeals.
