At least we had a go at 0-3 - and could easily have scored more. A clear handball by Chelsea-defender not even considered by VAR, Chadi Riad a big surprise to me (hope the rumours of offloading him is rubbish). Hope he start next Sunday in the back three, try Usche from start. A loose canon, but unpredictable and full of energy. And please leave Pino out of dealing with free kicks and corners.

As has been said above don't move Richards to accommodate another player. Now I'd try Riad. He's left sided and if he tires too soon then there is still time to put him out on loan. 60mins and sub him. Not sure of the situation on Clyne, but we have Lerma.
Johnson must be nailed on for a goal (under the returning player rule), although he was terrible yesterday. Sadly we need Mateta to defend set pieces, that's his main value at the moment. Find a couple of loans to the end of season. Nobody really available.

Totally agree. The fact it hit his hip first seems to have been completely overlooked, isn’t that the reason being given for not awarding us a penalty against Chalobah? VAR didn’t look at that very intently! England was obviously only taking his time at the monitor to decide Red or Yellow rather than penalty or not. A complete t*** who loves the limelight and appears to have a big club bias
The other aspect which need looking at his head injuries. Yesterday Chalobah went down holding his head and England immediately stopped the game, we were in their area and about to cross. The game was restarted outside the area with a drop ball. Nothing wrong with Chalobah. I understand you have to be careful with head injuries but, yet again, some teams are taking the piss. Obvious solution player has to leave the field for at least 5 minutes and be assessed by a neutral doctor.

It's fair to say I was not a happy man after that.
The game followed what has become a familiar pattern. Mateta misses a gilt edged chance and then Canvot presents the opposition with a gift. The overall performance was ok in the first half and I felt we were a bit unlucky to go in a goal down. Any chance of a comeback was undone by conceding so early in the second half.
They say you don't know what you've got until it's gone, and boy did we miss Marc Guehi yesterday. The reliance on Canvot and Lerma to paper over the cracks doesn't look like ending well. The team look like they've forgotten how to go out and win a game.
If the £35m Brennan Johnson is the answer then I think I must have misunderstood the question. He doesn't affect the game and generally looks lost. I know there will be some excusing him on the grounds that it takes time to integrate etc., but I'm at a genuine loss as to what he brings given the system we play.
Off the field of play, I have this to say. My underlying sympathies are with Glasner. The players brought in - as a collective - have been disappointing - although Benitiz looks competent enough. Overall the squad is weaker than it was at the end of last season. I don't agree with the way Glasner has conducted himself recently, but I can see the reasons behind it.
And then there's Steve Parish. You couldn't open a newspaper or website from May '25 onwards without seeing him in the news. Whether celebrating the cup win or doggedly pursuing the UEFA lost cause, there he was. And where is he now ? Where's the Leadership from the top when it's needed ??
Glasner says that the October conversation between him and Parish was confidential and only those 2 knew about Glasners decision. So when Glasner went public with that, did he have Parishs blessing ? Now it could well be that Parish is now accelerating his efforts to land Glasners replacement. And that he thinks he's doing the right thing by ( for once ) keeping a low profile. But if you're presenting yourself as The Face of the ownership then I expect visibility in bad times not just the good.
How this ends I don't know. Lose to Forest and I think we're firmly in ' Vieira Territory ' and Glasner will be sacked. Then Palace will be in a real dog fight.

Totally agree, although I know in some quarters criticism of Parish is seen as a hanging offence

Listening to talksport this morning, there are two rules which say different things. The IFAB rule (mentioned in this thread) says no pen. The prem rule says pen and yellow. The refs went by the latter. In the Citeh game they went by the former and the ref's onfield decision stood.

I think you better go and support Arsenal as you seem to want something that Palace will never give you. It's called being realistic, not living in the past as you so rudely put it (you can also think for not only me but for 24,999 people as well).
Be a OG fan boy, who can't deliver a win in 11 games - so progressive, maybe they should turn the table on its head and we would be champions then in your mind.

Pretty much how I see it.
We need 8 or 9 points to get to the usual target to avoid relegation.
This looks achievable in the remaining 15 games unless there is a total collapse, but the quicker we get a couple of wins the more relaxed we can all feel.
I don’t see Glasner changing his methods and system and just hope that getting players back more attuned to his methods (e.g Munoz, Sarr and Kamada )will see a pickup in form.
If I had one wish for this window , loan or purchase, it would be for a pacy and powerful forward to carry the threat to the opposition (think a Bolassie/Semenyo type). We lack aggression and purpose in the final third.
Whatever their attributes, Nketiah, Pino and Johnson don’t tick these boxes and Uche isn’t good enough.

this is why, although i don't want us relegated, if we are and next season we are taking our cheaper seats at 3pm most saturdays not surrounded by tourists and glory hunters, no var, less cheating, more homegrown players, a more even league and the possibility that we will win more than 2 out of 12 home games, then i feel people won't be
as upset as they think they will.

Perhaps these players are just not suited to the roles in the 'Glasner Way' and would benefit being deployed in different positions in a different system.
Practically the same thoughts here as well. Having watched the match on Sky-Germany (much better than Sky coverage on "the island") i found myself agreeing with the commentary team about the collective loss of form. Just a couple of months ago the defence stability achieved by the team as a whole was compared to Fort Knox. Now we are so open and this started before MG left. Ok so we lost the entire right side for a number of matches but the replacements were/are not up to speed and the system merely adds to the bad form of individuals. Open spaces behind the WB'S, CB' not covering, midfield overrun as the "10's" are tracking back. Yes we are having no luck whatsoever but there is truth that you make your own if effort/motivation is correctly channeled. It's all so disappointing, the whole place seems to be drifting without leadership.
I am at loss to see where a turnaround could arise and find myself casting an envious eye at the other wannabees who all, despite player sales, injuries and manager contract end dates seem to cope better. I think I read that Fulham and Brighton have the most goal contributions from subs in the EPL. I conclude that the squad building has been less successful in our corner of south London. Again, drifting.
Last point; while I am no different to many who wish for an injection of fresh talented players, can anybody seriously say that any of the plethora of players linked albeit generally via pointless so-called sources, might bring about an immediate improvement??
Yes, we feel hard done by the referee but it is useless to keep complaining, it happened and it's over.
More relevant is how we performed.
Question, if Guehi had played would we have lost? Answer, probably not because poor young Canvot wouldn't have played which would have saved us two goals. We looked vulnerable on the break because we were too far upfield - a characteristic of attacking wing backs. With Guehi we would have been more secure. Mateta is a liability as we all agree. If we drop him, as we should, he is out of the shop window for a transfer and we could do with the money. Johnson has not found his legs, we need a forward able to take the few chances he is likely to get. He had the one and missed it. It's looking pretty obvious that the combined £65 million paid for him and Nketiah is looking a waste.
Saso didn't look too bad but I think Clyne would have been better as a sub. The big disappointments are Wharton and Pino. Wharton has got stuck in like Hughes but it was criminal to get two yellow cards, we shall miss him against Forest because he's the only one who can bring the ball forward. Too often he plays off the wall passes when he'd be better putting his foot on the ball first. Pino has skill aplenty but gets hassled off the ball and his free kicks are blighted by overhitting, the pace of the PL takes getting used to and I am sure, given time, he will come good.
Richards is usually solid but his long throws (and Lerma's) have not been very productive.
We need some new players but will any we get be the choice of Glasner or Parish? Time will tell if the decision to keep Glasner on was the right one. At the moment it's a managerial mess.

My look of the match best part of it we was the better team and fighting for the ball , which has been missing of late , apart from gifting them 2 goals and the 2nd 1 was a team event , for Lacroix part in the 2nd goal he stopped instead of tracking back , watch his reaction when he realises that we have given them to much space , its was a oh s*** moment and but almost got back to block , if he reacted earlier they may not have scored , thats a defenders view on that ,
