What, a deliberate stamp on someone and it’s just a caution? Seriously are you a paid Chelsea var official?
 
I see team unity, or the lack of, in responses to incidents like the Neto stomp. The nearest Palace players should have been straight over in Neto's face, and when the ref had calmed it down the captain should have politely asked if he missed the violent conduct stomp, suggesting he needs to take another look, that's why the players are angered. But really we don't have any hard nuts, their all a bunch of lightweight cream puff wusses. Oh for a Jedinak and some on pitch leadership.

We have really struggled in the third tier European competition. Has it been worth it? I'd suggest not. It's only worth taking part in if its won. That said, a home defeat to Larnica suggests that the manager doesn't have the sort of tactical flexibility that would help. The suggestion that Glasner might eschew tactical flexibility because he wants to make a point to the Board is alarming in the extreme, if true.
I think that Glasner should not be sacked. He got us into this mess and he can get us out of it. The manager's job is to do the best with what's available. Not to tell the Chairman what should be available. Get on with your job, man.

Completely wrong..!! Parish and his lack of strategy and ambition has led us to this - it's that simple..!!

Hmm, sounds perfectly reasonable. Jedinak would have been fantastic in this team

We were far too passive in our reaction .
Watching on French tv the pundits in studio asked "where have VAR officials gone ?have they Gone to eat fish and chips ?"😂
 
It's very clear , heads should roll. 🤣🤣 😎 Football is a strange industry. Results go wrong in a complex operational system of personnel, and rather than endeavour to find weaknesses to address, the immediate reaction is a sacking. (or a Chairman's vote of confidence,...same thing)
I thought Chelsea weren't as competitive as Macclesfield, and yet Palace still lose. Is it the Chairman, the Board, Manager, Director of football, the players. ?
I don't think Palace need a knee-jerk reaction. A calm head is needed to address the issues, and maybe a bit of motivation and some new shooting boots 🙂

Tbh I don't think many players really saw it and the focus was more on Caicedo stopping another attack with a foul. It's what VAR should be for to let the referee check something he's missed... But of course they didn't for some reason. Couldn't wait to get the ref to the screen for the penalty though. As harsh as it feels, I'd also be wanting that penalty if it happened to us. The real frustration mainly lies with VAR missing things that could have benefitted it's elsewhere.

But I don’t see that as one of the exceptions listed in the rule contained in post #219?
 
We played reasonably well in the first half helped by the return of Munoz and Sarr.
The critical moment was the mistake by Canvot which directly led to the first goal.
I’ll say it again, Canvot is not ready and should not be starting Premier League games at this stage.

The concerning thing was how heads dropped.

Not surprising in a way with our poor run of form , but we no longer look like the slick machine that’s difficult to beat and instead even getting a lead would lead to a feeling that it was only a matter of time until the opponent equalised.

Wharton was silly getting the second card in the way he did and will be a big loss v Forest as he’s the only player playing for us today who doesn’t treat the ball like a hot potato.
Another would be Hughes , but for some mysterious reason he didn’t start today.

I was sitting about 30 yards behind Glasner and he still looked fully committed to the cause even if he looks clueless if plan A doesn’t work.

I watched Johnson closely today and he’s not somebody will be involved in the build up, will dribble past players or create something out of nothing.
So what have we paid £35 million for?
Well not playing to his strengths won’t help.
We have to counter attack teams when the opportunity arises and get Johnson into positions when he can demonstrate his finishing prowess.
Otherwise he’s likely to go the way of Nketiah and look like a square peg in around hole.
 
Didn’t go today but watched on TV. Disappointed that the ref was inconsistent in the Caicedo and Wharton decisions and not sure of the rules re handball. The guys on here printed off a set of current rules which are at odds with what the pundits “ were told were the laws” on Sky???
Anyway Canvot had a hand in all three Chelsea goals and has cost us several goals in other matches. Now we have Riad, who I believe was bought as a Guehi replacement when we expected to lose Marc some time back, I trust Canvot will only be used when, and if, we are in a unassailable position. He is only 19 and has been thrown in beyond his current capabilities….he sometimes panics and sometimes switches off and was totally schooled at Arsenal. I do think he will come good.
I do expect Kamada, as his contract expires, to follow Glasner at the end of the season, I just hope that the other Glasner selected players Lecroix and Riad honour their contracts when Glasner goes.
