Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal match thread

As if to prove the point… Clyne nowhere.

All the work we did the last few games out the window. FFS
Any future opposition watching this will be licking their lips. Play it in behind our wingbacks, cross and we will obligingly stand still and watch you score. We will even helpfully play your unmarked attackers onside as an added bonus

Getting the player balance correct so that every individual contributes to the overall game plan is OG's biggest problem. Too many below par performers and individuals not equipped with the skill set to face a decent side like Arsenal.

Could have done with that sub about 10 minutes ago. Kamada really doesn't bring anything to the table as an attacking threat. Trouble is its all too late now.
If Kamada had gone off do you think Clyne wouldn’t have run in in the wrong direction and Lacroix wouldn’t have obligingly stood still 2 yards from goal to play them onside? Don’t think Kamada is why we are losing today

Remove the scoring chart today and it is another positive performance, especially the way we have moved the ball around the middle of the grass against opposition who are in a "different division" in terms of class.

Every coach in the EPL knows we can’t defend high balls in to the box and we are poor at man to man marking when in defence, the back line has no balance and we need an urgent reset in the up coming window!

We have not taken our chances and defensively we have been awful.
Kamada is awful and yet still he stays on.
Glasner is Kamada blind sadly.
We just need to keep it 4 now

Blimey. That’s right up there with

“Yes Mrs Lincoln, but apart from that how was your night at the theatre”

All ancient history now but maybe flogging our best heading centre half and main organiser just before the transfer window closed wasn’t a strategic masterstroke

Fortunately, future opponents won't have the same quality as Arsenal and our defence will probably play better at times than it did today.

At the end of the day, the 'scoring chart' is the only one that counts for anything - there are no prizes in the PL for taking part!

The truth is Arsenal haven't had to be that good.
We've missed good chances and their goals have come from our mistakes rather than through Arsenal brilliance.
It's been a disjointed performance without many positives .
We’ve looked naive today. At the end of the day there is a reason we are in a relegation battle. OG got it right in some previous games but this has been a bit of a shambles and his set up for the game hasn’t worked at all

No I don't. I just don't see Kamada being much of a threat. I think Nketiah is a better option, although to be fair there isn't much between them. But Nketiah can at least score (very occasionally admittedly at the moment.)

Fair enough. I just think looking at the front three today including Kamada and saying that’s where we should have made a change is a bit like changing up your bowling attack after a batting collapse

I was just thinking of my Palace Xmas wish list…

A fully fit Wharton
A left sided Munoz
A firing on all cylinders Ebs
Fraca fit and being the missing bit of the puzzle.
Kamada proving us all wrong.

A man can dream
