On the thread about membership ticket difficulties (loyal fans being defrauded or some such heading)How many Season Ticket holders do Palace have?
I think there's a few reasons sell out might not happen.Allocation of about 33k? We are struggling to fill on our 3rd visit this year.
Would we even sell out selhurst if the capacity increased?
The main one being is, at the end of the day it’s a glorified friendly. I’m going because it’s another trip to Wembley with a trophy to win, but I’m sure there’s plenty of others, especially those who live some distance away that will feel different and will be saving it for when the proper stuff startsI think there's a few reasons sell out might not happen.
Fixture right in the middle of August and lots of families are away.
Playing on a Sunday (We haven't bought tickets as can't make the Sunday but have bought for others)
Two expensive days out already recently at Wembley - Although tickets for this day are cheaper it's still a significant outlay if taking a few kids.
Glorified friendly match.
Could turn into a Jota memorial event
Don't want to spoil the memory of cup final day.
if they opened up the sale to 'new' memberships then it possibly would sell out (but could be to Liverpool supporters) - from what I've heard it's much more difficult to get a ticket with a Liverpool membership due to ballots, purchasing history, number of games you've previously attended etc, etc.
For me, it's the Jota stuff. I was really looking forward to it. When that happened my first (incredibly selfish) thought was - Community Shield Jota/Liverpool Love-in: ruined for Palace. The main one being is, at the end of the day it’s a glorified friendly. I think most of us thought the same mate. Probably the best way to avoid it is to hang about on the concourse and go to our seats last minute. Although I expect it’ll all start up again on the 28th minuteFor me, it's the Jota stuff. I was really looking forward to it. I thought we would win originally but it's a hiding to nothing now. I'll watch it in the pub.
