There’s a danger of that happening but the result would likely be a final split in the Tory Party. The centre right of the Tories will never accept working with Farage. In 2010 didn’t the Liberals form a coalition with the Conservatives to keep Labour out, even though Liberal policies were more in line with Labour’s?
Would the Conservatives form a coalition with Reform to keep Labour out? Sure they both say no today, but in 2029 we don’t know how bad things will be.
Or would the Conservatives join with Labour to protect the status quo?
Le Pen got the most seats but there were some very strange bedfellows formed to keep her out at any costs.
Keeping the far right out is an honourable objective for me. Winning the most seats is not enough to form a government. If the other parties have more in common with each other than they do with Reform then they are duty bound to work together.
