Budget 2024

And a recent poll finds that Starmer, is the worst ever PM in our history.

Fantastic achievement,Keir!! Keep up the good work and you may face a leadership challenge and be gone for good.

As i keep saying there is only one poll that counts and it is the general election and no were not giving the Tories their ball back.

I suppose that with his huge majority that Starmer can alienate loads of his own party. Which he knew would be his biggest issue. Hence his constant night of the long knives.

However, do beware as Starmer seems that he could end Labour's chances for decades. Perhaps you can give us some redeeming features of the current government/ leadership/ policies? Except for the fact that they're not Tory.
The government has already used the blame the Tories argument so much, that it already seems like the boy who cried wolf. Unless you're buying it?

As for ball back, that seems like around Starmer's level from his overall performance. Or lack of it.

Not many enthusiastic about the Budget.
Indeed many now predicting job cuts, higher interest rates an a recession next year.
Mortgage holders likely to be faced with increased borrowing costs as the underlying gilt rate is moving increasingly higher.
Plan for growth appears to be in tatters.
Well done Rachel !!

Presumably, when the economy tanks the first person to get the axe is the chancellor. So she has very limited time and may as well make the most of it. Get your selfies with her now: gone in 6 months - after April figures kick in.

Agreed, and hopefully take the equally useless Mr.Flip flop with her when they face a wipeout in the next May local elections.

They're not going to go willingly. I'd say it could be 4 years 364 days into their term. They're enjoying the rewards and trappings of power. Lisa Nandy spent £1200 on two leather folders (leather folders are £30 in the House of Commons stationary shop) after Reeves said each department should reign in spending. Rayner has a personal photographer at £69,000 a year. The first deputy ever to apparently need one. Shows the brazen c**** we're dealing with. They think they're doing a Blair with their images but they're not mentally aware or capable enough to pull it off.
Tory sleaze replaced by open raiding of the tax purse. You'd get better rule out of the vikings.

Rachel from accounts has demanded a reduction in the Civil Service of 10,000 staff.

It's a start but not enough. Of course if you were to move some of the staff into NGO's then technically they are not Civil Servants mission accomplished. I expect someone in the Government is already working on some wheeze similar to that.

I am a realist. Daydreamers come on here for a rant, this petition will not achieve anything, as I state Labour are in and will remain so,bolstered by an eye watering majority.
The reality is, Starmer was gifted the win by the Reform party standing in seats where they either beat the Tories, in four seats, or more commonly split the Tory vote and allowed an unpopular Labour candidate to come through on the inside.

Starmer won the election with 600k fewer votes than Corbyn received in 2019 and 3 Million fewer votes than Corbyn got in 2017.

Starmer is toast and so is Reeves. We have the worst Cabinet in living memory and a weak, pathetic puppet of a PM.

In our first past the post system they still managed a huge majority. It is obvious that they will win again in $ years 8 months, the tories are leaving for Reform and so are the millionaire donors. In a decade the word Tory will be lost in history like Whig.

They wont get even remotely close to a victory next time.

And Rachel has the dubious distinction of being voted the worst Chancellor in living memory!!

This last election has the lowest recorded turnout since universal suffrage became law.

Labour's share of the vote held up more or less, the Tory vote collapsed because many simply stayed at home.

In 1997 many voted for Blair who didn't normally vote Labour. Starmer won fair and square but he didn't win over disaffected Tories.

I don't really see what you're getting out of it? Other than Tory bashing. Which might be fun and understandable but likely everyone is going to do worse under Labour. Including you - unless you are a Union Rep, one of the members of the Unions where uncosted deals have been struck, or a Labour MP, Councillor or someone that handles their expenses.
hes not even a Palace fan, what is he doing on here?
