I’m coming to London for our match against Hull at the end of November. As we’re not playing until Sunday, I’ve got time on Saturday to catch another match, and I’ve seen that Bromley are playing Burton Albion at home. As I’ve read Dave Roberts’ Bromley books, I’d love to visit Hayes Lane for the first time.
Questions for visitors to Hayes Lane:
Should I buy tickets in advance, or are there tickets available at the ticket office on match day?
Which stands at the ground are recommended?
Can you get to Hayes Lane by tram from Croydon (that’s where my hotel is)?
Any tips on Bromley FC are very welcome – many thanks in advance!

Yes, buy tickets in advance, you may be able to buy on the day but with Palace playing on the Saturday there will be a decent crowd and Home games were selling out towards the end of last season.

If you want to sit then there’ll be the South Stand (behind the goal) and Fiorini stand (Half way line ish)
The South stand has direct access to the fantastic social club and bar and will probably have more availability than the Fiorini stand

Terracing is East stand (new and along the side of the pitch behind the dugouts) North stand (behind the goal but very little cover if it’s raining and not as good a view as the new East Stand.

As for travel, Bromley is easy to get to from Croydon by bus, less so by train. Not sure about the tram as don’t often use it.

It’s a cracking afternoon. Good club and friendly atmosphere with decent facilities.

Tickets are e-tickets and can be bought in advance from the Bromley website, get there early to enjoy some food and a drink in the social club pre match. The 12:30 Kick off is usually shown on the large tv screens inside.

The 119 bus from Croydon goes along Hayes Lane, I know this because it was one of my bus choices from Bromley to Palace games when I was a kid, admittedly I had to Google it to see if it was still the case, because I’ve not been a kid for many moons🤣

It’s a tidy little ground now, not so when I was a regular back in their non-league days

I used to get that to school.

We used to mainly get the 227, so I’m not sure why we occasionally got the 119 because it was a long old way round from Bromley to Thornton Heath, I honestly can’t remember, long time ago now 👴
Me too, I used to get the 227 to Penge and either walk or get another bus. Or likewise, occasionally get the 119 (119b I recall) to East Croydon (didn’t know it went to Thornton Heath though 🙄) and then walk in! I had a bus journey before these too… those were days.

Yes we used to walk round the corner in Penge after getting off the 227 and if there was loads at the bus stop we knew a bus was due so we’d wait, but if there was no one there we’d start walking

Remember the sports shop on the corner, I think it’s an estate agent now, but we used to spend ages in there because it was the best around for subbueteo stuff and we was obsessed, staring longingly at all the stuff and then the last minute dash for the bus

Happy days

Did the same as far as the bus stop was concerned but cannot remember the sports shop on the corner and I loved a sport shop but subbueteo was never my thing.
