Bournemouth match thread

Eze and Kamada were in the lowest ratings on BBC website. We need to be upping our game in that department if we are to get back to the end of last season quality. I dont know how, but that is why we pay Glasner £4m a year, to find out and get them buzzing.
Eze is way off his best. Kamada doesn't seem to have improved since day one, in fact the opposite. If we can unlock our creative midfield players skills we will improve dramatically.
Devenny is the best performer I have seen so far this season in that role.

I would have been happy with a draw before the game, so won’t complain now.

Overall it was a decent defensive performance and Henderson was largely untroubled.
We continue to leave gaps in the channels, which led to a number of fizzing balls played across our box, but fortunately there was nobody on the end of them.

Although Eze didn’t have a good game, he still looked to be our best hope of creating something with two or three ‘nearly’ moments.

The team continues to lack accuracy and penetration in its passing in the absence of Wharton.
As that’s unlikely to be remedied in the coming weeks, we have to find other ways to carry a threat.
Over to you, Dougie, asap in the the window.

Still on the drive home but tbh we did not expect much today - although would have liked more from the performance we are happy with a point. Onwards to the next!!

Eze was frustrating at times and mitchel so very soso. Kamada was fine for his 10 mins. Not a bad strike.

Why does anyone expect Eze to be at his brilliant best every time he plays? He has struggled with hamstring injuries, which are terrible for someone who relies on changes of speed, not to mention someone who is a truly gifted, smooth mover on the ball. And surely we can't expect him to play aggressive, pressure defense particularly against a team as fit and lively as Bournemouth.

I'm just grateful to have him on our team, and I wish him well. As well as Devenny has been playing, I'd probably sub him for the final 30-35 minutes until Ebs can play at close to his full speed for longer.

We thought it would have been better to sub eze at 60. Give him a rest.

Lacking acceleration is one thing but in recent games he’s tended to hold onto the ball, try to take players on and end up losing the ball, allowing the opposition to break. Today his first touch was poor and he lost the ball on a number of occasions then made halfhearted attempts to regain possession. Maybe it’s a confidence thing but he’s way below the standard we saw from him last season.

Just back from the game. Respect the point but oh my that was a poor performance. Too many laboured performances from individual players and I don’t think I have ever seen us give away possession so much and so often. Really poor to be outplayed, out fought and out pressed by AFC Bournemouth!

Our goal led a charmed life and realistically Bournemouth should’ve scored two or three in the second half. Defensively we were at sixes and sevens and Mitchell was back to being rubbish, beaten far too easily and caught in possession numerous times. Bournemouths two young centre backs Huijsen & Zabarnyi were imperious and never in trouble whereas we couldn’t win the first ball or the second ball when defending corners or free kicks.

Sarr was on the whole decent but had a couple of tame or miscued shots when well placed. Munoz should’ve scored but decided to try and pass it into the net instead of putting his laces through it.

The ref was poor, so many times he awarded them a foul for a push or a nudge however when we were on the receiving end of the same, he generally deemed no foul!

On the whole we just didn’t seem interested today and Hughes going off injured was also a blow, as he was playing well. Ebs had another day to forget and was well marshalled by their defence.

The game on Sunday against Southampton is huge because anything other than 3 points and a good performance and we are right back in the mire! January we just have to be in the market for a top level left wing back and a young midfield playmaker.

To be honest it’s all about the 3 points, never mind the performance!

I thought that was a hard earned point against an in-form team.

I wouldn't describe it as a poor performance for that reason. And I wasn't impressed that much by Bournemouth either.

Too many unforced errors by both teams. Our passing in our own half has been below par in the last few games and it was again today.

Eze looks like he's playing from memory at the moment. He has yet to discover his rhythm in what has been to date a poor season for him.

The squad needs a refresh in January. I just hope that Parish and Freedman are going to act sooner rather than later.

Absolutely agree, we moan about Kamada but at least he looks like he is giving some fight. The foul by Eza was stupid and the way players went past him made it look as if he just didn’t bother to win the ball from them. In truth the whole 11 didn’t look confident to create chances and constantly either gave the ball away or made poor passes. The control when receiving the ball, Matteta being an example was awful. Take the draw but it was a bad performance.

I thought we were OK esp 1st half. Bossed midfield first half, contained them well and carved out three good chances. They were on top last 20 and we didn't offer much attacking wise second half, bit of a meh performance but all about a clean sheet and a point - we were professional and keep the ball well these days although there were some sloppy moments in possession from both teams. Southampton can't lose every game, can't take the win for granted on Sunday but nothing less will do.

Southampton have only conceded 1 goal in their last 2 matches, not too long ago they were only defeated 1-0 by A.Villa at Villa Park. They could prove to be a 'Tough nut to crack'.

Should we fail to secure all the points, I suspect HOL will be awash with lexical fireworks !

Eze has missed around six games this season through injury, how much rest does he need?

In full flow he's outstanding but he's been nowhere near his best this season and I am.genuinely wondering whether the time to cash in may be approaching.

Anyway, solid point today. Let's just hope that we can beat Southampton to end the year on a high.
