Bournemouth match thread

blimey back to the doomed comments again, we got a point away to one of the form teams in the PL after we got battered the previous game. I thought the ref was poor, still not sure where Eze fits into this team, Sarr gets better every game...

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we will not see the best version of Eze until somebody who makes things happen comes to the club or Wharton comes back. He absolutely needs somebody to take the attention away to be able to shine.

At this moment in time there really is no difference between having Eze or Kamada on the field in that position.

PV had his faults but you can absolutely see why Ebs got dropped. If he’s not doing the spectacular he isn’t doing anything. He just needs to work a bit harder.

The ref had a mixed game. It was an anxious moment when VAR checked the last incident which had nothing in it but it was still a relief when they cleared it.

Our starting 11 is competitive in this division. I worry at the moment when we have to turn to the bench. The loss of Hughes is a worry but CD looked better today.

We all need the lift of a couple of good signings next month, anything like Wharton and Munoz would be fantastic and having Wharton back would be magic too.

I had forgotten how good Doucoure was. For 10-15 minutes, he showed why he was valued at £70m. But he seemed to go quiet after that. Im a bit concerned he may still have some issues, but if he can stay good for a whole game which I hope is coming, it will give us so much more choice in midfield. We have had a lot of bad luck with injuries. And now Hughes. What a loss he was to the game.

You may have to explain to me what he was doing because I thought we looked a lot worse once he came on.

I understand his strengths but he definitely wasn’t having the influence on the game that Hughes was.

What I saw was Doucoure take up a central role and for 10-15 minutes he got the ball a number of time and played some good progressive passes. Nothing special, hardly noticeable, but that is how he always played. I agree we declined when he came on but that was more because Hughes went off.
Doucoure is clearly not there yet, but there were signs for a little bit that he was getting it back, although I agree it did not overall improve our play. But if he can get it back it will. Definitely.
