Looked really good for Croatia a few years ago and I thought he'd be a decent buy. But got a big move and has since gone off the boil. Clearly had talent though and if available for a sensible price it could be a smart move. I'd prefer ElHadj though as he looks like the real deal.

I’m assuming it’s a pretty low offer - seems to have had a decent season with Torino but they’ve decided not to trigger an option to buy on the loan… a player not wanted by Ajax or Torino is not screaming quality.

But he adds some much needed depth, clearly has some pedigree, and looks a good fit for us tactically.

Assuming it is fairly low cost, looks a sensible if slightly uninspiring bit of business.

I've yet to see a poster with any enthusiasm for this guy (multiple sites) . The BBS are also meh.

That said he maybe a square peg for a square hole. There are plenty of underrated players. If OG wants him that's good enough for me. It seems financially low risk.

Is he really better than Adamarola. I don’t know but at the price quoted there can’t be much in it. If so then the aforementioned needs to be sold. Shame I thought he might come through. Just hope we don’t give him silly money.

You never know as it’s the rumour season. But this is the sort of signing that we would make for cover for European football. He is an experienced international , that has played in the better parts of European football. Croatian players are invariably reliable, and at the money being quoted could be up Parishes street.

I trust our recruitment team now. Most players seem to come good. Had never heard of Munoz when he signed and that worked out alright.

This guy looks more attacking than Mitchell. Transfermarkt have him with 46 assists and 5 goals in 215 appearances. Around half of them in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile Mitchell has 14 assists and 3 goals in 192 career appearances, albeit at a higher level.

Really Mitchell is going to start, isn't he? However, if he needs a rest of gets injured, a low cost attacking replacement seems ideal.

Hard to argue against it. Seems Mitchell will remain as the number 1, but we now have genuine cover which, helpfully, is of a more attacking profile which gives us options. Decent price, European experience, going to have him through his peak years.

Problem fixed and budget saved to spend elsewhere.
I’d argue better than decent price in modern football. If he is half as good as Munoz then happy days

Just messaged my Ajax season ticket holder mate. His response... 'Worst player ever. We are so happy he will leave us'.

Not a glowing endorsement!

Think we all agree that Mitchell needs back up. At that price it seems that's all it will be. I too liked the look of El Hadji Diouf who seemed an upgrade to Mitchell but with a bigger price tag. Mitchells attacking game has improved under Glasner, lets hope if continues. He played a blinder at Anfield on the last game.

That might well be the impression he leaves at Ajax, but 28 international caps in a good team, 5years successful in the German league, say it might well be he just didn’t fit at Ajax. Ajax are always at the very top of Dutch football it’s often the case that a player will just not Gell at this type of club. The same happens here at the Man Us, Man C. Chelsea.s,etc.
